Travelling on a CrossCountry service today, the first class host asked me whether I held a ticket or a pass. He was only offering the sandwiches to ticket holders. Passholders (such as BritRail, I presume) were not being offered the menu, just tea and coffee. I had a normal walkup ticket, as it happens.
With the exception of PRIV holders I didn't think that any distinction was made between the two. Is it official policy that first class pass holders don't get the same service as ticket holders?
