I used a Highland Rover about 3 years ago and bought that online through the Scotrail website.
Can this still be purchased online - all I can find a form in fill in for someone to contact me which isn't very helpful.

If not I'll either use my local GN station or get it at Inverness when I arrive of the sleeper.

Yes. That's the page.
It's the link embedded in the caption 'more info' which I was referring to, and to which I've offered my best guess of the page to which it is intended to link through to. I apologise that my saying "the link to 'more info' on that Scotrail page doesn't take my browser to any other page at all" was unclear.

Ah yes, I misunderstood. The 'more info' link on the Scotrail site does appear to be broken.

Thanks for the link.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Trying to proceed with making a booking using that link results in this error message after a few clicks:

On Wednesday 1 April, Abellio will take over the First ScotRail daytime services. Serco will begin to operate the Caledonian Sleeper services on Tuesday 31 March.

We regret that you are no longer able to purchase train tickets through this website
Please visit scotrail.co.uk to plan your
journey and buy your ticket with the correct operator.
You are still able to claim a refund for a ticket bought on this website before 1st April. Please visit Your Account.

THere are also references to contacting first Group etc on the contact us link.

THanks - that form seems to be a request for someone to phone back. I was looking to book it through webtis as I did last year.

can anyone clarify if it is valid on the VTEC highland chieftain from Inverness to Aviemore? I was planning to go to Aviemore on the Sunday morning - the HC is the first train of the day.

I had the same problem a couple of months ago.

After buying numerous Central Scotland Rovers online and hassle free with the previous franchise I got the "We will give you a ring" thing with the new lot.
Despite being in for the rest of the day after filling in the form and working from home the day after, I received no phone call.

Eventually (about two weeks later) someone from TheTrainline called me 4 days before our trip and told me that it was too late to send out the tickets unless I paid extra.
I declined.
I e-mailed a complaint and asked why they had taken something simple and made it complicated.
They're response?
"We will raise your concerns at our next managers meeting"

I guess this is the way it will be from now on.
You can buy these rovers from ticket offices and on board, but I for one like to get my tickets in advance.

Is it possible to pick up the two rovers shown from a ticket machine or must they be posted?

Last year when I booked through the Scotrail Webtis it was just like a normal ticket booking - I collected from the TVM at my local station.
It looks like scotrail just post the tickets to you if you use the callback form.

The webtis link further up this thread also only gave the option for special delivery.
I sent an email to Scotrail but no reply as yet.

Anyway my local GN station issued it without any problems.
