Just coming on to the BBC website - an Edinburgh - Milngavie train has hit a car near Uphall. One passenger injured.
Other half is currently stuck in Edinburgh/ unsure how to currently get back to Armadale at the moment.
Scotrail are trying to organise bus replacements between Edinburgh park and bathgate.
Failing that could take the 6:56 to West Calder from there 801 bus to the hospital and 21 onto Armadale.
Ticket is valid to Livingston South on that line, but ithey ask the guard nicely before they travel, some will accept Bathgate and beyond tickets as far as West Calder.
The driver must have not stop while the light is flash or it is fault crossing?

A passenger train has struck a vehicle near Uphall station in West Lothian.
The 16:39 service was approaching the station at the time of the collision and it sustained damage to the side of the train.
One passenger has been reported to have "slight grazing" to a hand caused by one of the windows on the train smashing.
ScotRail has warned that services on the Edinburgh to Helensburgh line may be disrupted.
The operator tweeted: "Due to a train hitting an obstruction on the line near #Uphall, services between Edinburgh & Helensburgh/Milngavie may be cancelled."
Police Scotland have confirmed they are attending the incident, along with fire service and ambulance personnel.
The collision is believed to have happened close to the Roman Camp cottages at Uphall.
Would the thread title be more accurate as "car hits train....." given it appears from the images that the car has hit the train side as the train was passing?
Two men have been arrested after trying to make the best of the cold spell by driving a car down a frozen canal only to plunge into the icy water.
The pair were driving on the Union Canal, which runs from Edinburgh to Falkirk, near Winchburgh, West Lothian, yesterday afternoon when the ice gave way beneath them, police said.
Here in West Lothian we seem to specialise in breeding automotive muppets. A few years ago this story hit the headlines.

Two men, believed to be aged in their late teens to 20s, are being sought by British Transport Police (BTP) after a stolen pick-up truck was struck by a train in the vicinity of Uphall station in West Lothian yesterday, Wednesday, 14 October 2015.
Around 5.05pm the red Toyota Hilux vehicle, which had been stolen from a nearby garage shortly before the incident, was seen to be driven erratically on the roadway adjacent to the Edinburgh to Glasgow (via Bathgate) railway line.
It then appears to have gone out of control and roll down the embankment before coming to rest on its roof. Shortly after, the 16.39 Edinburgh to Milngavie service, travelling at approximately 75mph, collided with the vehicle.
The pick-up was extensively damaged however the train remained upright and did not derail.
A female passenger (age not known) sustained grazing to her arm. The train’s driver was uninjured, although he was left shocked by the incident.
One of the men, seen fleeing from the pick-up truck after it came to a stop at the location - which is known locally as the Roman Camp - is described as being aged between 18 and 27 years, about 5ft 9in in height, slim/medium build with short dark brown hair. He was wearing a dark top and jeans.
The other man is described as being aged, 18 to 20 years of age, between 5ft 6in and 5ft 9in in height and of slim build. He was wearing a light grey hooded top or zipper and was in possession of a black phone
The vehicle was removed from the railway line around 2.30am and services have now returned to normal.
Forensic enquiries at the scene are ongoing and officers are carrying out door-to-door enquiries. CCTV footage is also being trawled in an attempt to identify the two men responsible.
Anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have information which can help identify the two men is asked to contact BTP as a matter of urgency.
Superintendent Kyle Gordon, Head of Operations for BTP in Scotland, said:
“I cannot stress enough the seriousness of the incident and the potential circumstances of the two men’s actions do not bear thinking about. Thankfully no-one was seriously injured. However, many people were inconvenienced and the rail network was disrupted for several hours.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident or who recognises the two men from the descriptions is urged to get in touch."
British Transport Police can be contacted on 0800 40 50 40 or by texting 61016. Information can be given anonymously to the independent charity, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
If rumours are true re youths then they should be jailed for a serious amount of time.
Why is their age relevant - is there any reason why a "youth" should receive a harsher punishment for the same action than a "middle aged" or "old" would?
At least the Scottish police call men men and not 'male'. I always want to ask 'male what?'.
A 19-year-old man has been arrested after a pick-up truck was hit by a train in West Lothian.
The train collided with the empty vehicle near Uphall station just after 17:00 on Wednesday. One passenger was slightly injured.
The man arrested is expected to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Monday.
British Transport Police said inquiries to trace a second man were ongoing.
