it is for me :cry::cry::cry:

It is cheap to get in, all clubs have a social club happy to sell you beer in a real glass at a normal price and you can have a pint whilst watching the match. No yellow line of death..............

The Hampshire FA don't allow drinking outside the bar either.

Champions League

Bayern Munich 5...Arsenal 1

After the previous Bayern Munich away loss to Arsenal in the group stages of the Champions League, I had a feeling that they were determined to put matters to right in the home leg last night....which indeed they did.

They certainly did and it leaves the gooners at the snookers required stage, the Europa League surely beckons?:D

So how much of a payoff did Tim Sherwood get - or did he do the honourable thing like Dick Advocaat and refuse any "pay off".

Does anyone doubt that yourself or SS4 could have managed Villa as well as Sherwood over the last 8 months ? What qualities is he perceived to have that you do not ?

I bet he's going to get over a Million Pounds for abject failure - Fat Cat or what<D

I couldn't have done it. If only because I fear for my mental health if I were in a position of near constant media exposure. I could be an arrogant arsehole to rival Ronaldo though and then they'd love me regardless of what I did - or perhaps one has to also manage a club they like (ISTR Warnock is not liked)

Also why shouldn't he be entitled to the terms of his contract? It's not like we've failed that badly that the taxpayer has had to bail us out.

I though the wording of that posting to be ideal in reflecting that Mourinho is now to be made subject of an individual legal action by the former Chelsea team doctor Eve Carneiro....so no one is to be left in doubt that he cannot hide behind the claim that it was just a Chelsea FC matter.

I wonder if this is a ploy by her legal advisors to concentrate minds wonderfully at all levels of Stamford Bridge.

I think it will be rather interesting to see how this pans out in the rather more fair court system.

Another planet...
It's official, Huddersfield Town have appointed David Wagner as head coach. Academy director Mark Lillis will still take charge for the derby against that noisy lot from up the A62 on Saturday lunchtime though.

What was honourable? He quit, wasn't sacked and therefore wasn't due to anything.

I meant Sherwood!

Oh right, well that wasn't who I was talking about!

Butts was asking whether Sherwood has done the honourable thing that Advocaat had done, I don't see that Advocaat had done anything of the sort given he wasn't due to anything.

If anything Advocaat would of owed Sunderland as he quit.

Better going out at the group stage to go into the Europa League than getting drawn against Real Madrid/Barcelona in the round of 16 and getting embarrassing knocked out.

Meanwhile Celtic look to be heading out of the Europa League, Liverpool gets their first win and Spurs win again. I do hope the crowds at White Hart Lane station tonight are not lethally crushed loaded (in reference to another thread) ;)

Salford City have beaten Notts County 2-0 in the FA Cup. They'll be knocked out in the next round.

York City play Accrington Stanley later today.

FA Cup News:

There's often an upset in cup football, the results more varied. This is why I prefer it to the Premier League. It's more interesting, and the smallest clubs can be contesting (and beating) against teams in the Champions League. Remember Bradford City, or Brentford vs Chelsea?

Notts County has been shot down. The League 2 team have been beaten by non-leaguers, a team 59 places below them. Salford City were in the Evo-Stik League North Division last year, and were promoted to the Evo-Stik League Premier Division this year. They still have the National League North and the National League Premier to go before they hit League 2. And yet, they beat Notts County at home 2-0.

York City play Accrington Stanley later today.

Salford bearing notts county isn't a story - Salford are backed by millionaires and have been paying league level wages at times - people like you are swallowing the BBC hype and doing what they are doing: missing the real fa cup stories

BTW - we are higher in the league than Salford and have achieved the same on a fraction of their budget

Hyde United are also in the same league and they beat Salford City 1-0 on Salford's home ground in the league a few weeks ago.

That said, both the Salford City goals in the F A Cup match came as a result of good individual skills.

We'd be seeing that second goal forever more if it had been Ronaldo or Messi although the woeful Notts County defending obviously helped:D

Yeah, that is a good point. Besides, Salford will get knocked out in the next round.

So you already know who they're playing in the next round?

blatterontrack say: Erm, no... :p

I understand your thinking; however, according to your logic, this knowledge would also be irrelevant.

Oh dear. York lost 3-2. :(

We'll be relegated this year. We've flirted with it a couple of seasons; I think it's inevitable for this season or the next.

Evo Stik Premier League

Grantham Town 2...Hyde United 0

In what should have been yet another league win, Hyde United conceded two goals in the last 14 minutes away at a bottom-four side...

Hyde now down to seventh place and the three welcome points for Grantham sees them now in 21st place.

Larkhall Athletic 1...Winchester City 4 (Griffiths 75; Thoroughgood 50, Bentley 53, 85, Glasspool 64)

Another three points for Winchester City as they make it five wins in a row in the league. The referee failed to stamp his authority on the game early on as tackles went flying in and just before half time a bad challenge from Adam Roberts caused an outbreak of handbags which led to both managers being sent to the stands. Early in the second half City scored twice in the space of three minutes and made it three shortly afterwards (both Bentley and Glasspool ran over to celebrate with the fans). Dean Griffiths pulled one back for the hosts late on but Bentley popped up again to make it four and keep Winchester third.

Top Scorers:
1. Warren Bentley (Winchester City) 18 goals
2. Ben Whitehead (Wantage Town) 14 goals
3= Lewis Powell (Mangotsfield Utd) and Jake Lee (Shortwood Utd) 11 goals
5. Luke Hopper (Supermarine) 10 goals

Chelsea, hoping that Premiership matters could take a turn for the better in yesterday's evening kick-off must have felt that an away match at Stoke City was NOT the type of match to achieve that aspiration and yet another Premiership defeat subsequently occurred.

Chelsea, in the first 12 Premiership matches of this season have now lost 7 of these and lie in 16th position with only 11 points.

However a cursory glance at last nights MOD would reveal that Chelsea were all over Stoke and came away empty handed.

Their class will/should shine though eventually

I wonder if the Chelsea fans continued support of "The Special One" could be Chelsea's undoing. They seem to be totally behind the manager at the moment and this could be the one thing stopping Abramovich pulling the trigger.
Something seems to be very wrong at the club at the moment and it seems to me it all stems from the manager and his increasingly erratic and paranoid behaviour.
Maybe a change there will benefit everyone in the short and long term
