Hello all, first time poster here.

I see that Edinburgh Trams are advertising for trainee drivers. Does anyone have any experience of this role or of the company? Just trying to do some research on it all before I decide whether or not to apply. Also curious as to whether this may help in applying for train driver positions in future. Currently working as cabin crew and looking for a change.

Cheers.

Unfortunately i don't know anything about Edinburgh Trams, so hopefully someone else will be along to help. However, I know Train Drivers who have been Cabin Crew before, and I've known Train Drivers who have been Tram Drivers before. So either can bring experience of working shifts, dealing with emergencies, learning rules and procedures, etc.

Am a tram driver. I work for metrolink in Manchester. The role it self is good. The only downside really at the minute is kids who are allowed to walk on free and cause havoc. We have certain routes which get upto speed which I love. It's shift work and can get tiring if you don't manage your fatigue. High levels of concentration needed especially in city centres
