Going back to the Super off peak return I bought last week from London to Liverpool...

Restriction LF states that the ticket is invalid on services timed to arrive in London before 13:00.

What time would be the earliest I can leave Liverpool on a saturday with this ticket, if I was to break (or even complete) my journey in Birmingham? (Return portion so break of journey is valid). If I wanted to travel earlier, how much would the excess be? I've paid £20.45 with a 16-25 railcard.

The excess would be the difference in fare to the Off-Peak. (Edit; removed reference to Anytime as it's a Saturday). For ticket types it is the full difference, not half of it.

My personal take on BoJ and restrictions is that you have to imagine each journey component as if it was part of a full journey that had not been broken. That is the way to fewest arguments, at least. Arguably, though, the precise wording means you can go from Liverpool to Birmingham at any time you like (because no Liv-Bhm services call at Euston at any time), but that your onward from Birmingham to Euston is restricted as written - but you may find you get hassle for using that reading of it.

0632 (It doesn't go to London).

There are no earlier London Midland services on a Saturday.
