Arrive Blackpool North, leave Blackpool South?

Is it possible to get a return ticket to "any Blackpool Station" so as above, one can arrive @ North and leave @ South without incurring any extra cost?
ie. Bolton > any Blackpool Station ret?

Sadly you can't do this as there is no Blackpool Stns group.

Some staff might unofficially let you use tickets to one Blackpool station from another, but that cannot be guaranteed.

Local custom is (usually) that arrival or departure from alternative Blackpool stations is fine as long as the higher fare of the two (if applicable) has been paid. That can't be guaranteed however.

You may wish to obtain something in writing from the train company before travel.

If you're travelling on or before 20th March, the £10 Northern Day Ranger would enable you to do this, and it's cheaper than the Bolton-Blackpool fare.

You would of course have to travel on a Northern rather than TPE service to Blackpool North.

Thanks for the info on Northern day ticket, unfortunately I'll be travelling after 20 Mar (Good Friday) wonder if it will continue?

In ticketing terms it isn't a different route, so an excess isn't applicable. It's actually a completely different destination (or origin) and no excess is applicable to that scenario.

If you were to do this, you'd be best off buying the ticket to North. As South is unstaffed you can simply ask the guard before boarding if he will accept a North ticket on his train. If he says no you can either get the train to North instead (outbound) or walk from South up to North (inbound). In reality most guards will accept it.

A conversation with a guard on the platform is likely to be far more fruitful than a conversation with the barrier staff at North.

Thanks or the info...as it happens I will get a return to South and get the bus to my first destination (one every half-hour from Station to Stanley park) and walk back to the second (footy ground) and walk again back to South.

Does also avoid any queuing at North!

Officially, I think so, and any such ticket used in combination with the original ticket will have to satisfy one of the Condition 19 clauses.
