Hi guys my friend who's is a 28 year old male is untreated in becoming a train driver, he doesn't have any nvqs in rail or anything like that, he is currently a store manager in a retail shop but would like a change, is thee companies that possible dont need you to have nvqs in this and may train your themselves or if not is there places you could study for these nvqs? And if so would that be all you need before applying for a train driver? Thanks

There is an incredibly long thread in the careers section of this forum dedicated to aspiring train drivers. Your friend would do well to do a bit of research into the path to driving. There is tons of free information online just don't get sucked into paying for these How2 courses.

No NVQs required just decent GCSE grades and live no more than an hour from your depot in general.
