Hi,

The other day I was sent a message by someone which was the destination board at Sydenham Hill station. The train was apparently formed of 10 coaches.
This is the first I've seen of this.

Has this happened before or is this a first time? Also, are the platforms at some stations even able to accommodate 10 coaches?

This was taken on Sunday.

Many thanks.

Sometimes the display doesn't get the formation right - a train I caught from Staines to Clapham Junction on Sunday (Basingstoke / Alton to London Waterloo diverted) was announced as being of 16 coaches. It rolled in with the expected 12.

But the platforms are all 12 car that way, aren't they, so it's no big issue?

I think the user was commenting more on the inaccuracy of the platform screens that the logistical issues with platforms.
