Monday afternoon saw the 16.57 Charing Cross to Folkestone service formed of a 465/2 and a 466.

It seemed odd to use inner suburban stock on such a route, albeit it must have made for a nice day out for the units! Does anyone know if this is a regular occurrence?

Though 'inner suburban' they get to Ashford quite a lot, so it wouldn't surprise me to find them at Folkestone.

2R90 1657 CHX - FKC has been booked 465/9 & 466 since it started running in January 2015. It's a networker for route retention/stock movement purposes more than anything else. Even though it's booked to use a 465/9, metro units do pop up every so often.

Wouldn't 6 coaches on this service make it a rather tight squeeze? Especially considering most Southeastern peak services are at least 8 coaches.

,I've seen it arrive into sevenoaks and it does not seem to busy, it leaves London just before the peak gets going.

I doubt it has anything to do with route retention purposes.
