They appear to be the same price. The Freedom Pass is treated as a season ticket (can someone check iKB for the current wording please?) within Zones 1-6 (or 1-9? The difference is not relevant for this journey) and therefore the combination should be valid with no requirement for the train to call at any intermediate station.
Thanks for the replies - I'd guessed that even if it was the wrong ticket the difference in price would have been max 10p! As it took the clerk awhile to issue it in future I'll buy 'Croydon stations' from the ticket machines to save time
Drifting away from the OPs main question, would a BZ6 ticket be valid to Ewell West/East, via Redhill, Dorking and Epsom? Noting that a point to point ticket is more expensive.

Yes, it's not much longer than the shortest route.Given the same situation as the OP. If he had been issued a BZ6 ticket rather than a Croydon one, would entering the London zones at one of the Ewell stations be valid?
