Well in. I went through all assessments for depot driver role just after you. (Passed them all too).
Your thread was a daily read at the time. I'm still waiting though. Fingers crossed.
GOOD LUCK!!!

This has actually made my day

so pleased for you
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
for me my timescales if anyone is interested:

stage one passed june 14
stage two july 14
stage three (DM interview I then failed)

telephone interview with another toc passed november 14
passed final interview with that toc december 14

no job for me came up (obscure points system of selection and delays related to electrification) and I got tired of waiting....

sat another DM interview shortly after- I applied prior to passing the interview with the aforementioned toc but decided to continue the application anyway- but failed it (after again passing a sift and passing the dfft additional test) passing one interview can lead to dangerous complacency and being so honest as to mention having passed with the other TOC did not help my cause.... so I was left having passed one then failed one which felt quite strange!

then with valuable feedback took my fourth DM interview in June 15 and passed that one
medical july 15 but then placed in a talent pool like before

however....

got the call for that last toc september 15
started december 15 and never looked back

Congratulations, a triumph of patience and determination.

Is this sort of duration common? I see the wait on the ongoing "GTR talent pool" thread has annualised for most candidates, but there are extenuating reasons for this caused, it would seem, by a new TOC realising it has no drivers and putting dozens through assessments before aquireing any trainers.

Are Northern the worst for this sort of wait or are other TOC's recruitment procedures just as slow?

Hi Louby - we wondered where you'd got to! My son has managed to get transferred from Wigan pool to the Piccadilly pool and will be starting with you on the 18th - medical next Wednesday at York permitting! It's been a long wait for all those treading water!

Yes - he had almost given up hope - especially when the recruitment started again. I wonder how many will be from the pool and how many are internals?
Good luck with the medical.

So I guess you've handed your notice in? His changed from 1 week to 1 month's notice in Feb as he had to sign a new contract after changing from weekly to monthly pay. To be fair, they have been okay with the 2 1/2 weeks notice given.

Yesterday for my son and he was told that they'd have him back anytime. It's good to have a safety net!

Quick question Louby. Did you have to re-apply or did you get an email/phone call out of the blue
?
