Hi,

To the video (please set to 1080p quality / fullscreen mode):
https://youtu.be/L8L4FAom1hI

A few impressions from only a weeklong holiday in Sicily and a day in Rome. Many more photos to follow.
Featuring:
E656 "Caimano" electrics with Intercity and Intercity notte sleeper trains from and to Rome and Milan along the coastal lines of Sicily from Messina to Catania, Syracuse and Palermo. Circumetnea 950 mm narrow gauge railroad featuring old railcars with views of volcano Mt. Etna (wobbly video reflects ride quality ;)). ALn 668 Fiat diesel railcars on the branchline to Noto.
Busy traffic at Roma Termini terminal station, high speed trains, Rome trams and Ferrovia Roma Laziali - Giardinetti old narrow gauge EMUs.

Hi,

Thanks!

Yes, already at Messina Centrale with the complete train. Shunting off the ferry happens at Messina Marittima, just behind those buidlings in the background.

I love the Italy high speed rail system. Mussolini was a tyrant, but he built an intricate rail system.

It was intricate a long time before Mussolini. Mussolini did not improve the Italian rail system, he just took the credit for the work of his predecessors.
