http://www.westmidlandsinterchange....ds-rail-interchange-to-boost-regions-economy/

Plans for a major strategic rail hub to boost the West Midlands’ economy were announced today (Thursday 14 April 2016). If approved, it could create between 6,500 and 8,500 new jobs as well as ease HGV lorry congestion on some of the region’s busiest roads.
Early proposals outline a freight interchange with warehousing and other associated development that would be built on land west of Junction 12 of the M6 in southern Staffordshire. The West Midlands Interchange would be linked directly to the West Coast Mainline, one of the country’s principal freight routes, and will be well placed to serve Birmingham, the northern M6 corridor, Staffordshire and parts of Warwickshire.

The amount of jobs mentioned seems very very high to me.

Good god have they dusted Stretton off again? Remember it from nearly 7 or 8 years ago. Planned on the down side. They will be looking at Brinsford Parkway again next.

This looks like a new proposal on a different site (unless it is down to Birmingham).

Now that you have posted a link I see it, thank you.

The title "West Midlands Interchange" could be about buses for all I know.

The poster who started the thread called it by it's official name so I don't see that he's done anything wrong.
If it was about buses perhaps he would have put it in a different place.

I notice the local lairds were behind it, shielded by a company called Four Ashes Ltd (or similar). This proposal smacks of the same sort of thing we have seen south of Derby and Nottingham. Call me a cynic if you wish but does not the Daventry development suffice?
