Are Northern planning running any extra trains from Hull/Bridlington to Scarborough that day?

Last Year Northern ran some extra trains and strengthened others. I travelled to the finish in Scarborough and the extra services were well used.

A trawl of the Northern website hasnt uncovered any info, and neither did a more general google search.

The normal Sunday service is roughly 1 train per 2hrs, if a lot of people travel that is going to be crammed.

Have you looked at Real Time Trains ? There a a few STP trains listed, mostly from York.

Just had a look at Realtime trains, and must say congratulations to TPE. There is a planned Middelsbrough (Dep 12.24) to Scarborough (arr 14.11) service for those who wish to see the Start (Dep 11.10) of the race and the finish (expected time 16.25-16.55).

Northern on the other hand look as though a normal service to Whitby is planned.
Anybody wishing to watch the race start and see the race pass through the following locations:-
Castleton 14.15- 14.32
Danby 14.19- 14.37
Grosmont 14.34- 15.03
Sleights 14.53- 15.15
Ruswarp 15.00- 15.22
Whitby 15.06- 15.29
(all times approximate)

will have to be sharp on their feet if they want to catch the 11.22 departure to Whitby. The next planned service from Middlesbrough (Dep 13.55) will arrive at the above stations after the race has passed through.

I would have thought arranging a service from Middlesbrough to Whitby, that departs around 12.15 would have been a good addition (subject to being able to plan a passing point).

I agree TPE have got there act together, just wish Northern would join them. 1 week to go and still no info. Trying to plan the day, not easy with the lack of info, if its just the standard Sunday service its going to be packed.
