Just wondering about surviving Signal boxes, PSBs, SSCs, and even their more recent replacements, within the York area?

I'm aware of the one which is now a Costa within the station itself, and the one which replaced it on the roof outside the original station platforms (possibly above platform 10?).

I believe there are at least two signalling centres within the York area, but I'm not sure where these are located, in relation to York station? Also not sure if there are any other surviving boxes within the York area?

Thanks.

York IECC looks like an industrial unit, and is located behind the 'new' island platform, it has the blue window frames.

York ROC is the other one, located to the south end of the platforms, big red brick building between the avoiding line and the station. Currently it only controls North Lincolnshire, but come 3rd May will control what was Sheffield PSB.

York PSB was between platforms 8 and 9. The building is now used as VTEC offices.

Poppleton and Strensall signal boxes are both operational and nearby.

Loads of signal boxes and gate boxes on the York-Harrogate and York-Scarborough lines, and (for now) quite a few heading east towards Hull. Heading further out, there's plenty of boxes on the Northallerton-Stockton and Saltburn lines, and also a couple on the Bishop Auckland branch. That's about it.

Another planet...
Presumably Wakey Kirkgate, Healey Mills, Huddersfield, Batley, Bradford Mill Lane plus others will all close at some point with control moving to York ROC?

Thank you for your help here - I was able to get photos of all four York 'boxes' when we visited. In particular I had wondered where the IECC was located - although I had seen the building which it turned out to be, many times, I had not realised it was the IECC.

The ROC, however, is rather more obvious!

I ended up in the IECC grounds by accident when visiting the ROC. Too many pathway options!
