I am trying to purchase 2 Gold Card discounted tickets from CLJ to MKC tomorrow. As I understand it (according to BR Fares Here this should cost £15.30 for a cheap day return via Kensington Olympia, however all I can seem to find on Southern's booking engine is a £16.45 fare. Is this correct?

As horrible as the Southern book engine is, it is offering me some £15.30 fares. Have you inadvertently selected open return or the wrong return date?

Looks like that is the Off Peak Return, have you erroneously picked the out and return on different days?

OTOH the Southern booking engine is rubbish - you may have more luck with a different one Or just buy on the day from the TVM or ticket office - there is no benefit to booking this ticket in advance as reservations are not available.

I think trying to add the cold card complicated matters too. Just to confirm I have understood it correctly my gold card gives a discount on both tickets - so £15.30 for each of us, £30.60 in total?

Yes, if the other passenger is an adult who travels with you throughout the journey.
