Season Tickets and Industrial Action

Apologies if this has been asked and answered elsewhere - I did a quick search but couldn't find anything...

What's the situation for season ticket holders when industrial action prevents them from travelling? I'm thinking specifically about the Southern strikes that have been called for the next few weeks. I have a long commute (Southampton to Croydon via Barnham) and I'm unsure whether it's ok to not travel and submit some kind of Delay Repay claim or not. As far as I can tell, there won't be any trains at all between Havant and Chichester, so it's not like I can even try to get so far on SWT and see what happens.

Alternatively, is there any precedent for relaxing the routeing restriction and allowing travel via Clapham Junction or Guildford and Redhill instead?

There should be alternative provisions, but you will have to wait till nearer the time to find out.

If the journey is not possible, you will be entitled to a refund.

They already do, especially from commuters on a certain route I believe, as you are probably already aware.

If the direct Barnham route is blocked, chances are that agreements will be in place.

That said, there is no guarantee until all the details are finalised and published.

I see they are accepting tickets. I never thought such things happened during industrial disputes but I'm wrong about that.

During periods of disruption not relating to strike action they allow people to use the trains.

What really needs to happen on the strike days is a signal or points failure around Wimbledon or Waterloo or may be near Portsmouth. They'd have great fun then!
