Hi,

I have recently gone through the application process to become a trainee conductor based at Manchester Piccadilly. Fortunately i have been offered a place on the April 4th Course.

I was wondering if there was anyone who has already been through a course could enlighten me to what will be happening over the next 3 months, also about times?? is it 9-5 for 3 months or is it straight to different times of the day?

Thanks in advance...:D

Hi Louie I'll be on the same course but based at Leeds, from what I hear it's quite intense in terms of lots of material to get through so presume it will be a 9 to 5 sort of thing....well done also !

Hearing test, eye test and blood pressure check, pee in a bottle for the drug and alcohol test, and questions about your medical history, be honest about any conditions as if they find out about any further down the line there could be consequences.

The drug and alcohol results took a couple of days to get to my CTM and was told that if I didn't hear anything with a few days, everything was fine.

Hey what was the pass rate for the hearing test? As that's the only thing I'm worried about

where do the medicals for Manchester take place ? reading a post there London was mentioned which seems a heck of a journey for what doesn't appear to be an 'intense' medical i.e. with x-rays and stuff

plenty of time to drink water though so you don't get 'stage-fright' when you have to fill the bottle.

Yeah I only asked the extent of the medical because when I emigrated to NZ it was a full scale one with Lung X-Rays as well, they also checked for Syphilis !! which was apparently something that was in the Medical from ages ago, but didn't check for HIV because they hadn't been allowed to introduce it due to Infringing Human Rights or something as things had become PC & it was viewed as something that they weren't allowed to Discriminate against.

Sounds like the Medical doesn't go into all that much from what I've seen on here ? Hearing, Eyes, Blood Pressure/Heart, drug & alcohol screening.
