Anybody know of any decent locations to visit and catch Class 92 locomotives? They are rare but there must be some services that are operated by them? Southern England might help.

In 'Southern England', GBRf currently use theirs on Dagenham to Garston
car trains, with the DB examples now limited to the Transfesa intermodals
between Ripple Lane and Silla(Spain) via HS1.

The Trent Valley line used to be good for 92's. Since DB Stopped using them north of Willesden (I think?), you only get GBRF 92's on car trains. Not to mention the sleepers.

*Edit*

I've just seen Freightmaster's post, that sums it up really.

"Garston" in Southern England eh? That is a new one on me!!

GBRf Class 92's normally operate on the following subject to suitable passed Class 92 drivers.

6X41 (MO) 03.30hrs Dagenham - Garston CT
6X41 (MSX) 00.32hrs Dagenham - Garston CT
6X41 (SO) 00.29hrs Dagenham - Garston CT
6L48 (SX) 15.49hrs Garston CT - Dagenham
6L48 (SO) 14.09hrs Garston CT - Dagenham

6X43 (TO-Q) 05.09hrs Dagenham - Garston CT
6L47 (TO-Q) 22.25hrs Garston CT - Dagenham.

This week it has been a Class 66 with I believe 66753 doing the honours. 6X43/6L47 not operated this week.

There's always quite a few at Dollands Moor (never seen one on the move there though).

Why did GBRF stop using 92s to places like Trafford Park?
The Trafford Park train went over to 66s to 'free up' 92s
to work the sleepers, but of course within a few months the
sleepers were no longer 92-hauled due to reliability issues.

Well the obvious is Euston.
Obvious?? GBRf 92s have not worked the sleepers to/from
Euston for almost a year now! :|

They are still used on the local workings within Scotland
(Polmadie to Glasgow Central/Edinburgh-Carstairs), but
the Anglo-Scottish services are almost always worked by
hired-in Freightliner class 90s (or very occasionally 86/87
if no class 90 is available).

Given when I posted the original message it was correct, 66753 also done Friday too but I had noted 92033 was on it yesterday (Sat) but sadly a little poorly to get out in the sunny weather!

Is the Wembley Euro Freight Ops Centre to Daventry service a 92? And what about the Dollands Moor to Wembley and Daventry trains?

Those trains are all 66-hauled these days, I'm afraid. :(

As per my original post on the first page of in this topic, the only regular
workings for DB 92s west of Dollands Moor these days are the Transfesa
services to/from Ripple Lane via HS1.

I swear one of the 6M45 'water train' turns was 92-hauled in recent memory, but as you say, it could well have been a one-off.

Another I can think of is the Crewe TMD to Willesden TMD moves that occur for Caledonian Sleeper, don't happen very often now though.

It can happen - a 92 has even worked the 6S94 china clay this year,
but all such workings are exceptionally rare, so not really worth
mentioning in a "best places to see 92s" discussion...

Best place for 92s used to be Crewe Electric, loads of them parked up doing sweet FA.
How many are dumped there nowadays? I haven't been there for a while.

6L48 Garston to Dagenham cars was in the hands of 92 033 today, although lacking a time machine* this is probably of little use.

* Well, I assume...

I see a Willesden TMD to Crewe TMD through Nuneaton quite a lot. Most of the time it is a CS Class 92 with a Freightliner 90 with it. I was lucky the other day to see 2 CS 92s and a Freightliner 90!
