Between Bedford St Albans is there any cool sidings or anywhere you can see stock parked up closely?
There is a set of carriage sidings at Bedford, plus a couple of civil engineers sidings, all south of the Ford End Road bridge over the line - that's probably the only place you will get any sight of the sidings, due to the flat land around there.
South of the B531 Kempston Road, there are the Caudwell carriage sidings - again probably only visible from the overbridge.
At Luton and St Albans, stock is not generally held for lengthy periods, only for reversal of trains back to London - indeed the only siding at St Albans City is the turnback siding between the two slow lines at the north end of the station.
There are several stone and aggregate sidings between Bedford and Luton, at Elstow, between Leagrave and Luton, and just on the London side of Luton station. (According to Baker's Rail Atlas, 12th Edition, published 6 years ago.)
