SWT specials to Glastonbury Festival

South West Trains are running specials between London Waterloo and Castle Cary for Glastonbury over the Glastonbury weekend. The services are running via Basingstoke and Salisbury.

Western have extended the turbos from Bedwyn to Castle Cary in previous years to cater for Glastonbury traffic.
SWT have been running selected trains from Salisbury round to CC for a while now but was surprised to see no booked station call at Westbury.

There's actually 2 services booked to depart Castle Cary at 0454 that Monday morning for London. The GWR service to London Paddington and also an 0454 SWT service to London Waterloo via Yeovil Junction.

That one is just an extension of the Pen Mill terminator. Its return working has been cancelled to enable the extension to Castle Cary.
