I should have checked what the screens said, if anything.

Is this a clever way to hide the issue to customers?!

Not really, RTT isn't intended to be used by normal customers. The Thameslink website says the cancellation is down to "a shortage of train crew".

Something like that which is down to (TI) rostering could be traincrew marked up to RDW by rosters who put themselves N/A, or who have rostered someone who was A/L or even marking to someone to a job where they don't sign the road.

No, it's a simplified translation of the delay attribution code that I chose. Typically the TI code normally went down to someone making a screw up somewhere down the line. I personally still think that it's somewhat of a planning error not having enough crew for something but that's for another discussion
