Here's another mass shooting that we should mourn.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-36563280

Militant Islamist group Boko Haram has shot dead at least 18 people at a funeral wake in north-eastern Nigeria, officials and witnesses have said.

The militants stormed into Kuda village in Adamawa state on motorbikes and opened fire on women and children at the wake, a witness said.

At least 10 people were wounded in the raid, witnesses said.
The village is near Sambisa forest, where the militants fled to last year after losing control of urban areas.

No replies in nearly a day. Can I assume that the lack of replies is because African lives don't matter as much as American lives?

The right don't care about it because the victims are black.

The left don't care about it because the perpetrators are Muslim.

Unfortunately, atrocities in Africa aren't abormal compared to those in the USA, and will sadly receive more of a shrug than shock. I can't think what the militants think to gain by killing people at a funeral, except publicity.

Oh dear, may the victims rest in peace. I wonder if there was an actual motive for this cowardly attack, as opposed to it being random.

Very sad to hear. Boko Haram cultivate a culture of fear, and indiscriminate killings at social and religious events serve to further this. At least no rapes were reported. A death is one thing, looking into the eyes of a rape victim is quite another. Death at least has the advantage of being final.

The right don't care about it because the victims are black.

The left don't care about it because the perpetrators are Muslim.
Are you a military officer performing in a musical perhaps? Because I see generalising written as bold as day...

No, absolutely not. It's because there is not a lot to debate here, and this is primarily a transport related forum. Such atrocities are absolutely appalling and obviously no-one here is going to disagree with that. So what is there to say?

You could create a thread for every bad thing happening, but people come here for a different purpose, and there are other forums better placed to discuss such matters.

I disagree, after all this is the general discussion section. However it is inevitable that terrorist attacks in Britain, the USA or Europe will be discussed more because they are "closer to home" in a way.

Doesn't look as though Turks matter too much either

I tweeted about it. If you don't think this forum has done a good job of covering the Istanbul airport attack, then go on twitter because you will see a far greater level of coverage.

Feel free to discuss such incidents; I'm just answering the question as to why people aren't. Nothing more than that!

Agreed.

It's insane how the world is getting numb to this kind of murderous rampage, barely a day passes after the horrifying mass killings and the whole world has forgotten about it. I hope one day there will be an end to this insanity
