I appreciate the cartography of the current, official DB railway network maps, those that are drawn to scale and are geographic. Generally, the style has been fairly consistent over the years.
Going back to older maps, it is depressing to see the number of branch lines that have been pruned--shades of Beeching.
I've searched and searched, but haven't been able to find a chronology of the DB and DR maps on line, say current rail map in PDF format, maps from 2000's, 1990s, 1980s, 1970s, 1960s, etc.
I find the interactive DB map annoying to use; the viewable window is small and one cannot drag the map to see/frame the map as desired.
Is there a website somewhere that has good quality PDFs of the official DB/DR maps through the decades?
Thanks in advance.
