I've been having some medical issues recently, and this got me thinking about bus routes. I live on the Isle of Dogs, and so when I went to hospital I took the D3 bus to the Royal London Hospital.

But the D3 bus also goes past the following medical establishments:

* Bethnal Green Chest Hospital
* Barkantine Clinic
* Docklands Medical Centre
* Island Medical Centre
* Island Health Centre

And that's just the ones I know of. Are there any other bus routes which can boast at least six medical establishments along their route?

Won't be serving a few of those when it gets rerouted on the Isle of Dogs in a few weeks time. A lot of people complained in the consultation about losing links to the last three centres you listed.

The 205 serves 4 major hospitals - Royal London, Moorfields Eye Hospital, UCH and St Marys Paddington. There may be other smaller health centres and dentists on the route that I don't know about.

The 46 serves Barts, Eastman Dental Hospital, the Royal Free and gets near St Marys at Paddington.

I am sure a fair number of London routes will serve health facilities as TfL does reroute services to run to hospitals. There is a report due in the autumn about the adequacy of the bus network in terms of serving health facilities, including those being moved, reorganised or amalgamated. I expect there will be a massive bun fight about this because older people always want direct buses to every health facility from wherever they live. That's understandable but it's not practical nor is it affordable.

The 102 in Liverpool used to link Broadgreen Hospital, Alder Hey Hospital, Fazakerley Hospital, Walton Hospital and Liverpool city centre via a really meandering route. I think originally it was a Merseytravel subsidised service but then went commercial with CMT then GTL and then (if I remember correctly) Stagecoach. It's now a Merseytravel contract again but has been cut back to run Broadgreen/Alder Hey/Aintree and is run by HTL buses.

In the early 90s, Potteries had the 'Hospitals Link' route with branded vehicles - photo (not mine) here which connected the hospitals in N Staffordshire

That's an Oxford Road service isn't it? In which case it also serves the Christie.

When I was about 8 or 9 I would sometimes go with my father on a Sunday afternoon when he drove a Sundays only bus route from Weston-super-Mare to Barrow (Psychiatric), Winford (Orthopedic) and Ham Green (Infectious Diseases) hospitals to the south of Bristol for visitors.

When driving the 211 I had many ask me "do you go to the hospital?" A few were indignant when I asked which one they were talking about, but it serves several. The following are named in bus stops along the route;

St Thomas' Hospital
Royal Brompton Hospital
Royal Marsden Hospital
Chelsea and Westminster Hospital
Charing Cross Hospital
