Hi there,
I need to get from St Albans City (SAC) to Greenwich (GNW) and back every day.
The monthly season tickets appear to be a choice between
1)£345 via City Thameslink
2)£400 with zone 1-6
As I don't need to go anywhere else I want the first and cheaper option. However I am unclear on what route this ticket allows.

The ticket office staff have given me conflicting answers. My ideal route is get off TL at Blackfriars and take the tube to Cannon Street to board the Southeastern to to get to Greenwich. In which case that is via City TL. but one member of staff seems to think I need to walk for 15 mins between Blackfriars and Cannon Street because the tube is not included.

Any thoughts appreciated please....
thanks all.

Your route is fine while London Bridge is being rebuilt. Blackfriars to Cannon Street via Circle/District is a valid diversion and National Rail tickets will open the gates at each end. See http://www.southeasternrailway.co.uk/your-journey/about-thameslink-programme/ticket-acceptance/

The ticket office clerks probably said that because that's what their computer journey planner comes out with - the journey planner data is fairly limited with the Cross London options it can show, plus they probably haven't read up on what journey options are available for customers. MikeWh is indeed correct in what he says.

Thank you both very much. I asked again today at Greenwich station and at Blackfriars and got conflicting answers.
The one at BF who said tube was not possible was completely convinced... "Computer says no"!
Well, I will purchase a one week card soon and try it out.
Cheers.
