This week the first First Great Western Class 143, 143617 was released from Eastleigh. I saw it at Bristol today and although I didn't get any photos of the interior I did think it looked good. Very similar to other FGW units, everything painted blue, Dynamic Line moquette applied to the seats, which are still the same Chapman ones, probably similar in comfort to the three Class 153s that have Chapman seats, which is very good. Overall it looked like a good quality refurb for the unit hopefully making them better to travel on.
Here is a shot of the exterior of it, which I think looks quite good:

Looks alright actually, hopefully I'll see it as I pass through that sort of way tomorrow.

Could well be operating on the Severn Beach Line again tomorrow but then again it could turn up anywhere on the Devon services or on Taunton-Cardiff.

Whats the interior like then, isn't that refreshed as well?

Yes, it is basically the same as all the other refurbished FGW units, paint everything blue, handrails pink and seats with Dynamic Lines moquette.

A distinct lack of 'table' seating! Sigh. 2 per coach by the looks of it.
