Not for me. At the bottom of the journey planner page below the railcard section I have a blue bar with "Promotional codes (optional)" but there is nothing underneath it except "Check fares and availability" Clicking on the blue bar does nothing

Tried again today (Fri 30/12) and problem fixed. Wish all promotions were this generous but I'm surprised they've set it not to start until late February.

Any news/rumours of Northern doing a £10 day ranger ticket with tokens collected from newspapers yet?

I don't why I continue to look forward to these VTEC seat "sales". There's been nothing in them for me for a while now - and waiting can end up with me paying more for the tickets then if I hadn't bothered in the first place.

I agree and I may be wrong but on previous VTEC sales I thought railcard discounts applied aswell

That was my first thought - but it's Friday to Sunday.

Apologies Deerfold, I paraphrased your reply almost to the word! Don't think I can have turned the page when I was replying on my phone from an icy cold bus stop!

Perhaps it's a sporting weekend - I'm not really up on such things. FA Cup?

It is the 5th round of the FA Cup that weekend, that could explain it. Although with only 16 teams left in at that stage and the fixtures not being decided until early February makes it a strange decision.

It's the first weekend of half term for many places so I can imagine it being rather busy as people look for a cheap getaway in the cooler months.

This promo also appears to include several "VTEC + CONNECTIONS" routes, such as those into East Anglia, so has a lot more destination options than it might appear at first.

Good to see another VTEC seat sale is up and running. It's funny that they only had their last sale back towards the end of November, albeit it that was the inferior set-price tickets sale compared to this 50% sale which includes connecting travel. Took the opportunity to grab a first class return trip Arlesey to Newcastle for the latter part of March for £58 ;)

The other day I received a 30% off code from VTWC for any ticket for any train on route B (London-Birmingham-Wolverhampton-Shrewsbury). Others may have received the same or a similar offer.

Can also confirm that the TPE app offer appears to be valid with Railcards. It's offering me £1.65 from Newcastle to York.
