I'm still not sure... it might grow on me, it might not. It's an improvement on the EWS colours though - they look lovely in sun and abysmal in anything else:(

I think the red's a little bright, but that'll change with time

Only other thing is the DB logo on the front, which i think looks out of place.

The new scheme looks rather cool - if not almost 'foreign' in appearance.

Certainly a positive change.

The obligatory yellow ends, which they don't have in Germany, spoil it, I think.

I was not so keen when I heard EWS livery is going to get replaced by a DB livery , But I like it and cant wait to see it on the other classes even an 08  Am I right 67010 is the next one for a paint job.

One other thing I just notice is why have they got covers over the buffers?

In my opinion-get the Germans of our rails!!

At least its not 70 years ago :lol:

do you not realise that many TOCs aren't British? Chiltern is German (IIRC), northern and MerseyRail are part Dutch, Freightliner have a Polish division, and so on... if you wanted to be petty you could say EMT and SWT and 49% of Virgin Trains aren't - they are Scottish

Is Scotland not apart of Britain then? And just because Freightliner have a Polish devsion, does that mean its not a British company?

Yeah but at least they have either kept the same livery or don't have a STUPID logo on the front of the train.

The stupid logo is also on their German trains, but blends in better as it is not on yellow, but red: LINK

Aren't Freightliner now owned by rich Arabs?

Hello there
DB was about to go public on international stock markets in autumn last year. But the federal state and the financial crisis put some obstacles in their way. A range of rich russian, chinese and arabian investors, concerns or companies are just waiting behind the doors to adopt DB's activities. The network and the regional traffic operator "DB Regio" are the only subsidiaries that will remain state owned. All the DB Schenker (spelled like "Shanker") companies should be the first to go in their plan.
Btw I don't like the name Schenker. I really hate it!! Who can say what this company is doing, when you only hear the name? Terrible! Railion was also a bad name, belied the expectations (due to rely on - rail-y-on...).
And they don't kept the promise not to rename EWS as they broke many other promises. But who can say the name, when it would become a russian and chinese concern?
And the DB logo is out of place there. That's my oppinion, too

Btw I don't like the name Schenker. I really hate it!! Who can say what this company is doing, when you only hear the name? Terrible!

Schenker is a German surname, not a made up title like Railion. It was a large and very well known forwarding/logistics company, owned by DB, until they sold it quite some years ago. In more recent times, they re-inherited it and then merged their freight sales/marketing organisation into it and renamed the whole lot DB Schenker.

What was EWS is now part of DB Schenker West, the organisation having been divided geographically into 3 parts. On this basis, I'm sure they will re-livery the whole loco fleet, in the same way that Arriva trains and buses all over Europe are in Arriva turquoise - it's all about branding and recognition.
