You tell National Rail that when they are stamping the action out.

Don't worry I will
Yes indeedy, the next one is a FO(de-restricted to standard) and a bog standard TSO...

Sam
Don't they sometimes have a fourth coach :-?Which I guess is just a normal TSO. When do they get there own set of MK II coaches, they were I think ment to be getting them in November last year but they not finished doing whatever they are doing to them.

Hold on, £13 London to Wrexham with a railcard?! How'd you manage that? If I can manage such a fare for travel to London, I might try and wangle a Tame Bridge Parkway to London trip and back next time vice going with FGW/Megabus/National Express. Bet I'd get 67013 though...

Some nice pictures there Gizmogle. Glad you enjoyed your trip with WSMR, I've still got to do a decent length trip with them (Wolves to Shrewsbury and Wolves to Cosford only thus far) to give them a really fair chance.

If you mean how did I get a railcard discount, then it's because I was the companion on Dan's disabled railcard. If you mean how was it so cheap, then I don't know! £20 are the cheapest fares apprently, which with a railcard goes down to £13. Fantastic isn't it!

They're own Mk.3s are taking longer than expected because they found some rust or something on the bodies....

Ah, John_158, that is very true! :D

Proud Salopian: Honestly, £13 return. I didn't book the tickets, so I'll get Dan in here later to explain how they were so cheap. They were e-tickets if that makes a difference.

The heating was broken in the declassified coach on our trip, but it kept most people out so we had quite an empty coach :)

I sat in the declasified coach, I felt like the odd one out everyone else was hidden under a blanket!

I was the companion on Dan's disabled railcard. So I got railcard discount from him.
It was London to Wrexham and back again.

You could have just done it free with your priv card though?!

For a start, I don't know if it's technically allowed. I know that ATOC say it's a no-no, but I know that most staff will just let you on anyway, but I wouldn't want to risk it. Better safe than sorry :) It was only £13!

There fine with it, just ask the guard first, never had a problem myself and don't know anyone else that has either. I know it was pretty chep this time, I was just thinking ig you planned to go again and couldn't get such a good fare. I must agree with others as well, the staff are very good on there, like the staff on GC, must be an open access thing!

Yeah, I knowm but if Dan bought a ticket and then we got to London and they told me that I couldn't use my priv, that would've sucked. I feel better just paying the fare when it's a proper planned out bash like that.

Not really, that is a dangerous act, who know what could of been going in the other direction ;)

So, after all that pettyness about me doing heads out, I've just heard something.

"Loader has been warned twice by tour companies about flailing since the ban came in"

"If he's caught once more, then all tour companies are going to blacklist him, and NR will take out an injunction to prevent him visiting any NR premises"

From my anonymous, but trustworthy tipster.

Hmm, as far as I know, that was a spiteful rumour that he was on the edge of being 'blacklisted'.

I've got opinions on both sides here.. I don't like everything being so Americanised, such as Wrap-You-In-Cotton-Wool H&SE (H&SE isn't OTT, it's just the stupid prats who stop us from doing anything, from being brave and rescueing people, or having fun. But I would like to see him banned!! <D

Back to WSMR for a minute!

Ticket info:
The cheap advance tickets for WSMR are £10 singles. With a railcard, £6.60, so return, just over £13.

banned on NR Metals.

Pres railways have the choice to ban it or not

don't think it's banned on our line as I've seen a staff member doing it on one of the test runs of the grid

Ta! I had some random feeling it was some stupidly cheap WSMR only day return or something. As you do.

Thanks though, I know now it's reasonably cheap to do a proper WSMR bash! Now to plan it...
