Perhaps, but talk is of Wembley Central- stock would probably then run on to Euston in any case to reverse?

If it was Wembley Central (and it's a fairly big if per other posts), wouldn't the stock just then stable at Wembley Yard whilst the game is on? I doubt they'd have it filling up (and paying for) a platform at Euston if it wasn't taking/collecting passengers from there?

Bookings to open at 7pm tonight according to Retro Railtours' Twitter. No indication yet whether to Wembley Central or Stadium - charters have gone there in the past, as well as to Central.

Bit confusing, as there are two threads about a charter train on the HTAFC forum - following post gives more details - definitely to Central. £60 in standard.

Update:
A special train will be operated between Huddersfield and Wembley Central (and return). First and Standard Class tickets will be available. Bookings will open (along with full details) approx 1900 this eve. Check Twitter (@retrorailtours) for updates.

I don't see how you can have a problem with this. Huddersfield supporters who are members of the supporters group were also able to get a discount. The train didn't sell out, so why not try to boost the numbers?

I also fail to understand what "railway types" means; many forum members are also football supporters, some of whom are supporters of Huddersfield Town!

Return working was delayed by 25 minutes, but pulled back time in Northamptonshire and was into Huddersfield one minute early.

I had a slightly shorter run back to Oxford on a train full of disappointed Reading fans, so had to try not to grin too much... Well done Town!

I had the pleasure of signalling this into Wembley Intercity Depot yesterday. Was a bit of a shock to have a 67 coming towards me, makes a change from Pendos and 90's/92's

It appears that the train was delayed due to the late finishing of the game, to give plenty time for passengers to return to the station. The time it made up was chiefly through being given a run via Weedon as opposed to the slower route via Northampton and Daventry.

I think it is great that this service was able to be chartered at such relatively short notice and all credit to Retro for organising it

Huddersfield in a unique position for trains like this as well as it's such a hassle to go to Manchester or Wakefield/Leeds to catch a train to London. Really should have a direct service.

Irrelevant.

There are 5 fast trains per hour to Leeds, which are typically overcrowded, and as MylesHSG says, no direct services so regardless of frequency it will be a faff for some people. There is an additional slow service typically operated by a Pacer.

To make it up to 7 trains you must be counting the via Bradford service which takes over an hour; the idea that you would use this to connect with a train to London is absurd. After less time than it takes to do York - London, you'd still be in Yorkshire!

The fastest journey opportunity is typically changing at York! Other journey opportunities include taking a Pacer (typically) to Wakefield or Leeds.

And on Monday 29th, trains between Leeds/Manchester and London at suitable times would have been full and standing, and of course the TPE services would have been wedged as usual.
