So far March has started quite well for me, heritage loco wise. Two 20s, two 31s, two 47s and four 73s have been seen over the past three days in Kent and Sussex. So far, my March collection features:

47739/727, 66702/707, 73212/201, 73107/141 and a couple of NR ex-GLVs at Tonbridge [2nd]
31454/459 at Eastbourne [3rd]
20303/304 at Swamp and Snargate Crossings, Dungness Branch [4th]

Photos @ http://craigrailpics.fotopic.net/c1661366.html

And a couple of videos:

31454/459 leaving Eastbourne
20303/304 on 6M95 at Swamp, Snargate and Appledore

14/01 - 37611 + 20308
21/01 - 37423 + 37611
28/01 - 37682 + 37688
04/02 - 37069 + 37611
11/02 - 20314 + 37601
18/02 - 20309 + 37604
26/02 - 37605 + 37609

I'm hoping for a pair of 37s or a 20+37 combo next week. I didn't see the Colas 47 l/e, there was no advanced gen for it and was miles away when it was spotted leaving Tonbridge.

Cheers mate :)

Updated my site with a shot of 66710 yesterday and shots of 442406/414 and 67025 at Haywards Heath and 73136 on spoil trains on the Bluebell today

That has to be one of the best GBRF Shed shots I have ever seen 8-) and some more nice shots there , did the VSOE have the generater coach back on the train you know? And that ED does not belong on the Bluebell at all I dont know why they got the gronk to do the spoil trains?

Excellent photos & video, Craig.

The video from the North Norfolk Railway was also excellent.

Thanks very much Jon! :)

Tell me you're joking?

I don't know whether or not the VSOE had the generator coach in the formation, I wasn't looking out for it.

Personally I would like the ED to stay on the Bluebell until the extension to East Grinstead is completed, or at least a little longer than the couple of months it is supposed to have there. It really speeds up the spoil workings between Imberhorne and Horsted Keynes meaning more workings can take place in a day. I believe up to 6 HK-Imberhorne and return trips are running during the week at the moment. When I saw a couple of these spoil workings the other day, they were only around 50 minutes apart from each other which I think is rather impressive. Would be a lot slower with the class 08, which is mainly used shunting duties at the moment.

Updated my site with a few shots from today, featuring:

60020 at Gatwick Airport
SE&CR O1 No 65 and BR Standard 4MT No 80151 at West Hoathly and Keysford Lane
73136 working the first diesel hauled passenger train over the Bluebell, in preservation

No Im not joking it is one of the best GBRF shed shots I Have seen :) Well Yeah thats what I mean keep the ED there untill they complete the line to East Grinstead, then give it back to the owner to put back on the mainline lol,Thought the max speed on the line is 25MPH? A gronk can reach that speed cant it:-? I like this shot http://craigrailpics.fotopic.net/p56765431.html could you hear it at all on your B/W shot as that shot it looks like its been shut off. I also like the TUG shot.

The gronk at the Bluebell, a class 08, can only reach a maximum speed of around 15-20mph IIRC, 09s can go a little faster though. The 73 would travel at linespeed (25mph mostly) whereas the 08 would travel at it's maximum speed of around 15-20mph.

80151 was working a bit in the b/w shot. She wasn't working in the other one though. All trains travelling towards Sheffield Park at Keysford Lane seemed to be coasting whereas trains travelling away from Sheffield Park seemed to working a bit, including the ED. You could hear it for a while before it came into site when it was heading North at Keysford Lane.

The only bank I know of on the Bluebell is Freshfield Bank, which is just after Sheffield Park. I think it's mainly up hill from Sheffield Park to Horsted Keynes.

Updated my site with a couple of shots from today of 37607 and 37688 working 6O62 Crewe-Dungeness and 6M95 Dungeness-Willesden Brent

nice vids, at olympia the 19;05 CLJ-WLJ LOROL service was caped that meant the Ts didn't have to wait for the service mentioned. even though the centre road was green the driver thrashed the tractor the moment the train entered the station. This is the 2nd time so far this year 37688 has been to Dungeness

Cheers. I take it 6M95 was early at Olympia? It was 10+ late from Dungeness which probably explains why the driver thrashed 37688 right up at Swamp Crossing (37607 seemed to be DIT). Also, because it was late, it didn't have to wait outside Appledore to allow the Ashford bound train to clear. It came out off the branch, slowly approached the signal protecting the level crossing, then let rip!

The Golden Arrow this Saturday should be WCR operated. I think (I may be wrong here) that Oliver Cromwell is vacume braked only, meaning only WCR can use it as DB don't do vacume braked stuff anymore. Also the ECS is coming from Southall which kind of suggests it's WCR operated.

Well unless the move from southall WCRC to southall is for Oliver to be operated by DBS UK but as you said its vacume braked DBS UK only use Air and Would they allow DBS UK to operated on WCRC southall yard as I remember when Tangmere was being used WCRC moved her to OOC for DBS UK to use her:) But do you know why its coming out off waterloo now and Not Victoria the VSOE is not out its next out thrusday to Folkestone?

I probley see you tomorrow at the Harbour in the crowds or if not next thrusday if your down there for the Skips and Pullmans

If you take a look at this thread on this forum, you'll find all WCRC operated workings for the week commencing 09/03/09. Listed is all parts of The Golden Arrow for this Saturday.

You will probably see me tomorrow and if the VSOE does go to Folkestone Harbour this year to stable up, you might see me again down there. :)

Updated my site with 8 shots from today of 70013 Oliver Cromwell and 47245 on The Railway Touring Company's 'The Golden Arrow' Railtour, which could be the last ever steam hauled train down to Folkestone Harbour, and possibly the last ever train (that's if the VSOE doesn't go down there ECS this year like it did last year after the "last" trains in April).

Nothing sad about having stepladders in my opinion.

Updated my site with a few shots taken around my local area today, featuring 66707 dragging 73205/209 and 66706 through Crowhurst and 73206 and 73207 at St Leonards Depot.

You seem to be authorities on the 6O62 Crewe-Dungeness and the 6M95 Dungeness-Willesden Brent

I'd appreciate your help - I want to take advantage of this week's weather and capture these services on the Kent main line and the Dungeness branch.

I haven't been able to find booked timings and I'd welcome some expertise!

Many thanks in advance...
