To me, this all points to Stagecoach using the SGBC depot. Especially as SGBC now have Megabus contracts.

Not sure how reliable the UK BUSES forum is, but the suggestion there of them "taking over a bus company in North Bristol" could also be SGBC?

Could be a case of someone adding two and two and making five!

Does anyone know why Stagecoach South West route 39 has moved from Exeter to Torquay depot? Doesn't make sense to me as it runs between Exeter and Newton Abbot.

Exeter always seems to be very short of drivers! Plus with the Kingskerswell bypass open getting from TQ depot to NA is much quicker & easier now.

Isn't there a yard at NA? I would have thought so for operating the NA local services as well as Service 2. You might have thought it possible to add the 39 to that list.

Torquay depot is on NEWTON Road - the road to NA and it's only 5 miles away.

Don't think there's been any sort of allocation since NA depot and bus station was redeveloped in the early 90s

Id have thought it made sense to have Exeter starting from their end and Torquay starting from Newton end. Doesnt the first 39 start from Chudleigh? Does that come from Torquay dead?

Torbay have worked all NA locals and 88 for some time, then additionally took on the X64 plus more recently the 39.

The 2 is worked entirely by Exeter now that Dawlish outstation has closed.

All involve dead running.

Bit of news from the West guys.

Ops manager currently out route learning the 622 from Cribbs-Chipping Sodbury via Thornbury which will become an SC route from the August changes.
Also the 18 will be under their umbrella and rumours are the 77 also.

99 NHS service switches to Pulhams and will not use the Cheltenham Racecourse P&R .
The new service will run from Cheltenham Town Centre to General Hospital, Arle Court P&R, Glos Royal and Glos Bus Station.

The 99 branded Solo's are having their branding removed. 47556 so far has been done.

Thought it had been established that the 18 was becoming the 10/11 with Wessex?

The won the Bristol 77 months ago and the 18 has gone to Wessex according to Bristol city council.
The 622 often has an ex Stagecoach dart, in SC livery for the first few months after it's arrival.

I expected as much: from a location like Patchway (if that is where they move to) then a route like the 622 would be possible for Stagecoach to do.

Noticed some of the South Wales Scania E300s (28721-28741) have been de-branded from X3 and X4 vinyls. 28733-28735 are now in TrawsCymru livery. Is the X4 going to go Gold too? These tend to appear on the 26 more often than not now, despite having buses of its own (E200s 36401-36407).

The older examples (27688-27700), previously in use on the X24 before that went Gold, are now de-branded and tend to appear on the 26 too and the 122.

From Sunday 3 September we'll be making a number of changes to services in and around the Forest of Dean.

Service 23

We've re-timed most journeys to improve our punctuality. Due to low passenger numbers, the current journey at 0730 from Lydney via Yorkley & Whitecroft to Lakers School & Glos College will no longer run. The return journey, currently 1625 from Lakers School & Glos College, will now depart at 1625 and run normal route.
https://tiscon-maps-stagecoachbus.s.../West/Temp_23_Gloucester_3_September_2017.pdf

Service 24

Due to poor patronage this service will be reduced to seven journeys in each direction. Additional buses will run between Mitcheldean and Gloucester as 33. Students travelling from Ruardean, Joy's Green and Lydbrook to Lakers School & Glos College should now use buses on 31.
https://tiscon-maps-stagecoachbus.s...st/Temp_24_33_Gloucester_3_September_2017.pdf

Service 30 & 31

Buses will now change service number for their return journey at Coleford Square, not Five Acres - through fares will still be available to customers travelling on the loop. One morning and two afternoon buses will run via Ruardean, Joy's Green and Lydbrook for students to Lakers School & Glos College.
https://tiscon-maps-stagecoachbus.s...st/Temp_30_31_Gloucester_3_September_2017.pdf

Service 32 & 132

We've re-timed most journeys to improve punctuality. One bus in each direction will now run via John Masefield School in Ledbury. Evening & Sunday buses between Ross-on-Wye and Hereford will now run as 33. Morning buses through Newent & Highnam are re-timed to improve journey options for concessionary pass holders.
https://tiscon-maps-stagecoachbus.s...t/Temp_32_132_Gloucester_3_September_2017.pdf

Service 33

All buses between Ross-on-Wye & Gloucester will run via Mitcheldean and will no longer continue to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. Buses arriving in Hereford at 0757 and departing at 1722 will now also run during school holidays. A new journey will depart Ross-on-Wye for Gloucester at 1855 on Mondays to Saturdays. Schoolday buses to/from John Kryle School will now run via Pontshill to replace school bus 833 which is withdrawn.
https://tiscon-maps-stagecoachbus.s...st/Temp_24_33_Gloucester_3_September_2017.pdf

Service 34 & 36

Due to poor patronage journeys on 34 at 0920 & 1625 from Monmouth will no longer run. Last buses on 36 will now run earlier, at 1625 from Monmouth and 1740 from Hereford.
https://tiscon-maps-stagecoachbus.s..._36_40_40A_44_Gloucester_3_September_2017.pdf

Service 40 & 40A

A reduced timetable will run on each route due to very low passenger numbers. Customers from Tudorville & Archenfield can continue to travel on 34 & 35.
https://tiscon-maps-stagecoachbus.s..._36_40_40A_44_Gloucester_3_September_2017.pdf

Service 44

One journey in each direction is retained as a shopper link to Ross-on-Wye and via 33 to Hereford. Other journeys are withdrawn due to poor patronage.

CHELTENHAM AREA CHANGES FROM 13TH AUGUST

Here's a summary of the changes you can expect from Sunday 13th August 2017:
Gloucester changes will happen on 17th September.

Service A

We're revising our timetable throughout to improve punctuality and adding extra buses to maintain our every 10 minutes frequency during Monday to Friday peak time.
https://tiscon-maps-stagecoachbus.s3.amazonaws.com/Timetables/West/A_Cheltenham_13_August_2017.pdf

Service B

We've made a number of minor timetable changes to improve punctuality and changed our bus stop arrangements in the town centre. Buses towards Charlton Kings will now leave from North Street, whilst journeys towards Wymans Brook will still depart from Pittville Street but from the north and nearest Albion Street

Service D&E

We're adding extra buses to and from Hatherley & Warden Hill with a frequency every 10 minutes. To reduce journey time, buses will no longer serve Long Mynd Avenue but will pick up at nearby stops on Greatfield Lane. Between the railway station, town centre, Racecourse P&R and Bishops Cleeve our overall frequency will reduce to every 10 minutes. Service D will continue to serve Homelands Park but run every 20 minutes, whilst Service E will follow a revised route in Woodmancote and run every 20 minutes. On evenings and Sundays, we'll continue to run every 30 minutes but follow a shorter route through Bishop's Cleeve and Woodmancote to improve journey time.
https://tiscon-maps-stagecoachbus.s3.amazonaws.com/Timetables/West/D_E_Cheltenham_13_August_2017.pdf
