They will be scrapped, I am afraid - given that around 40 of the older TGVs have already been withdrawn there would be little point in converting the postal version of the same into passenger format.

Why was it unsuccessful? It sounds like a good idea to transport mail by HST.

They were succesful initially but the perceived need simply declined until in 2015 when mail was switched to road. I suspect internet technology won the speed argument.

Motrice 923007 supposedly preserved for Cité du Train, but not a huge amount of point in preserving a postal TGV car when 'normal' passenger ones are also preserved.

I'm pretty sure the scrapping went ahead fairly quickly, unfortunately.:(

Didn't one of them make it St. Pancras a couple of years ago on a test run? I'm sure I remember a picture of it on HS1 hauled by a couple of Eurotunnel's locos.

Yes.

Just web search for 'TGV La Poste St Pancras' and loads of links to videos and pictures come up.
