Am I right in thinking they did miss a station in the SE (cancellations??) and they have to go back to it - or have they already gone back and ticked it?

Also, does Newhaven Marine count as a station these days?!!

I know they missed out Corby the first time round due to the EMT service getting cancelled due to signalling issues, but since revisited it when they returned to London [I think the Greenford branch got missed off the first time as well].

Judging by the Map it looks like the Glasgow Suburban Area is mostly done, now onto the more time consuming (but beautiful) lines such as the West Highlands/Highland Main Line etc

If he's gonna propose to her, it will be at Kyle of Lochalsh or he isn't going to do it at all!! Might have a very miffed Vikki for the rest of the tour!!

*And he'd better do it in a kilt too....

Already are engaged arn't they?

I fail to see why their engagement/marital status has any bearing on the project as a whole. It's none of our business!

They could do an three in a row with Balmossie, Barry Links & Golf Street being pretty much together on the Aberdeen to Edinburgh line. :D

I don't think they can, as it doesn't stop at 'All The Stations'.

depends on whether they'll go Mallaig-Kyle via Skye or make a return back down the WHL. They could could take the steam train one way, take a normal service the other.

I'm not sure if there is a record for visiting all the request halts, but there is a book by Dixe Wills called "Tiny Stations" that describes his trips to visit them all. It's an easy read and has a good amount of humour.

Yes an excellent read, and Paul Merton did a handful of Programmes based on the book.

First request-stop in the book? Lelant, of course.

I'm writing one on Remote Stations. I went to Havenhouse on Thursday and have two more trips to do. The book will be out next year. It will be more railway based than Dixie's which is an enjoyable read but more of a travel book than a railway book.

Nowhere near enough to a Pacer :(
Latest episode is live and is very possibly my favourite yet, its entitled All The Pacers, All of Them

there is a clear divide between man and woman on this with Vicky liking them and Geff not! It made me smile when they included a montage of all the pacers they have ridden up til the Chadhill one which is their last and the end music has even been changed to say all the pacers, all of them several times before saying stupid pacers right at the very end, a statement with which I naturally disagree!

You'll have to update us on this and let us know when it's out! :D

Well if they do this again in 2020 Pacer should be extinct, some of the capacity issues should have ben addressed although how well remains to be seen, and will any of the difficult stations with very limited train services see an improvement?

Pacers were supposed to be extinct by 1995! They can make whatever statements they like about removing Pacers by such-and-such-a-year, until it actually happens I refuse to believe they'll be gone by then. Chances are they'll all undergo some modification to make them DDA compliant!

I did't contribute to the kickstarter for this project, but i wish i had done as it"s been a entertaing time following the youtube videos, vicki's facebook lives and geoff's periscopes plus the instagram pics-if they need some more kickstarter funding for a future project i'd deffinetly consider stumping up some cash (and i'm seriously considering buying a I♡pacers T shirt from thier online shop :D

Personally Ive never had an issue with a small fleet being retained for Northern my issue has been sticking one on the longer distance routes where there isn't an alternative such as Carlisle Newcastle but I think there is a strong will to finally get rid now.

Anyway lets not turn into a Pacer thread, there are enough of them already

Be very hard to visit stations that are pretty much only served by Pacers otherwise.

I was gently alluding that they might not have bothered with the whole project...

How many routes are served solely by Pacers? I know some routes particularly on Northern are quite dominated by them, but is there anywhere where they are the sole traction? Even something like Blackpool South to Colne sees 156s on a semi regular basis. North East is more or less interchangeable between 156 and 142, everything on FGW and presumably Cardiff area also sees 150s, and th routes around Sheffield often see 158s. Agreed it might be awkward at times, especially without access to diagrams, and with the likelihood of reality turning up something different.

I find they have done a very well-presented series, which hasn't fallen off as time goes along. I'm sure the mainstream TV companies have taken note of them.

One thing noticeable is the sparse train loadings in the interior shots. They always seem to have several empty rows all around them. Are the PR staff from the TOCs following them round and organising things?

No one's forcing them to travel on them on this jolly.

No-one is forcing you to watch the videos on YouTube or contribute to this thread either.

Indeed. They're becoming bloody tiresome.

As are the constant negative comments about the project. If you don't believe in it, don't follow its progress. Ignore this thread and move on.

There are plenty of threads on the forum which don't really interest me. I will comment on those which do, and skim past the rest. It's really that simple.

What, paying other passengers to wait for the following trains?

They do most of their travelling and filming during the day, between the peaks.

For some reason I keep coming across links to these irritating videos every time I look on google researching other stuff. It's rather irritating to keep seeing the face popping up - I thought it was supposed to be about the stations not some kind of floor-show for the presenters, one of them in particular. I don't know why they don't just get a job on the railway, then they can play trains all day and get paid for it, plus have the full experience including 0445 starts and 0130 finishes et cetera.

What a load of narrow-minded pig swill from some people here. All The Stations is engaging many people with the railway. It has done everything it said on the tin. But whatever shall we do? Sometimes there is a factual error. Sometimes they explore something outwith the narrow confines of the railway. And they're not recording the numbers of every train they get on. Disgraceful

I'm very happy to have contributed to the project. Some people don't get it. Fine - scurry away and devise something better then.

Yes, I do understand your point of view on this; maybe it's just a clash of personality that for some reason makes this 'project' really stick in my throat. Or maybe it's the audacity to ask for money for this five-minute wonder.
