And they'll also be operated from Patchway from then as well.
Hmm interesting. Dead runs from Patchway to Dursley then but, looking at the new timetable, I would think that the 60 may remain with Gloucester or Stroud and the 62 worked from Patchway although I will wait and see how they manage to set up the driver cahnges on the 62 where necessary. Also the 622 isn't on that list either and that is to pass to Stagecoach also.

It seems there changes to Exeter network from 3 September 2017:

https://www.stagecoachbus.com/promo.../exeter-network-changes-from-3-september-2017

There does seem to be some unhappiness over these changes.

Exeter network changes from 3 September 2017
From 3 September we are making changes to bus routes across Exeter, the first significant revamp of the city network in several years. We want to improve the overall reliability of the network whilst also taking into consideration Exeter’s continued growth, including the openings of the new Lidl distribution centre and IKEA stores.
Key benefits of the changes are:

Improved Sunday service of every 20 minutes on routes E, F, R and S
Improved Monday to Saturday frequency to the Rydons of every 20 minutes
B and F2 extended to serve Pinhoe, providing new links to Morrisons, Stoke Hill, Cowick Street, Exwick and Matford
Improved reliability on the Red Park & Ride
During the afternoon peak, a combined ten minute frequency on Hop2/2B between Exeter and Exminster
Below you’ll find a summary of the changes on each route plus PDFs of the new timetables. We will shortly be adding a new Exeter network map and PDFs for the revised Hop2 and 5 services. You can also download the free Stagecoach app - available in the App and Play stores - or use the online journey planner to plan your journey by bus. New timetable information will be available via the app and journey planner from mid-August.

A Thornpark Rise – City Centre – Alphington DOWNLOAD TIMETABLE
We are introducing minor changes to the timetable to improve reliability and reduce bunching around the peak periods and Saturday afternoons.

B Exminster – Marsh Barton – City Centre – Pinhoe – Exeter Business Park DOWNLOAD TIMETABLE

The majority of journeys will serve the Pinhoe loop instead of EDF Energy. Peak time journeys will serve both. The revised timetable will also provide better spacing in-between route 2 to/from Exminster.

D University – City Centre – Heavitree – Digby DOWNLOAD TIMETABLE

The timetable is amended with the same overall frequencies. Passengers on the Digby Loop will normally need to catch route D to get to the City Centre, and route H to get back.

E & F Exwick – City Centre – Lancelot Road / Savoy Hill / Summerway / Pinhoe DOWNLOAD TIMETABLE
To help improve reliability, peak frequencies will move to every 6 minutes and off peak frequencies to every 7-8 minutes. The F2 will be extended from Summerway via Thackeray Road to create a new link to Sainsbury's and the Pinhoe loop every 30 minutes during the daytime and slightly more frequently during the Monday – Friday peak period.

G Hamlin Gardens – City Centre – The Quay
There is no change to this timetable. Newer buses will be allocated to the route.

H St David’s Station – City Centre – RD&E Hospital – Digby DOWNLOAD TIMETABLE

This route will now finish at St David’s Station. Route 5 will serve Cowley Bridge (Wrefords Lane / West Garth Road loop) and route D will continue to serve the University. Customers can also catch routes 5, 55 and 155 from Cowley Bridge Road. Passengers on the Digby Loop will normally need to catch route D to get to the City Centre, and route H to get back.

J & K Whipton Barton – City Centre – Countess Wear – The Rydons – Digby DOWNLOAD TIMETABLE
Services J and K will no longer go to Pinhoe but will operate on a loop from Whipton shops to Sainsbury’s Junction and finish in Whipton Barton. Pinhoe will be served by the newly extended routes B and F2, offering new links to Morrisons, Stoke Hill, Cowick Street and Exwick. The 1 service will continue to serve the main road every 20 minutes.

The frequency to the Rydons will increase from every 30 to every 20 minutes. This is in response to growth along the route and in anticipation of the new IKEA store opening early 2018.

P Crossmead – City Centre – Pennsylvania DOWNLOAD TIMETABLE

The P will see a reduction in frequency to every 30 minutes to help improve the reliability along the route.

Red Honiton Road P&R – City Centre DOWNLOAD TIMETABLE
Morning and afternoon stopping journeys (before 0900 from the city centre and between 1557 and 1900 from Honiton Road) will continue but will labelled ‘Red’ rather than ‘M2’. Buses will also return to their previous route to improve reliability and will therefore no longer serve the Met Office. On Bank Holidays, the frequency will be increased to every 12 minutes.

R & S City Centre – Heavitree – Rifford Road – Topsham Road – City Centre DOWNLOAD TIMETABLE
From Monday to Friday buses on routes R and S will both run at a 12 minute frequency across the day. On Sundays, the frequency on both routes will be increased from every 30 to every 20 minutes. This is to help tackle congestion and improve reliability as well as offering better links into the city centre on what has become a busy of the week.

T City Centre – Countess Wear – Topsham DOWNLOAD TIMETABLE
There will be minor timetable changes to the peak journeys on this route to coordinate with the changes to the J/K.

Green Matford P&R – City Centre – Sowton P&R
There are no changes to this service.

2 Exeter – Exminster –Dawlish – Teignmouth – Newton Abbot
There will be changes to early morning and afternoon peak journeys with earlier departures from Teignmouth at 0547 and from Newton Abbot at 0620. In the afternoon, there will be an increased number of departures from Exeter at 1706, 1726, 1746 and 1811. On the 2B, afternoon services have been retimed with departures at 1716 (Exminster), 1740 (Exminster) and 1800 (Teignmouth). This means the combined Hop2/2B will provide a 10 minute afternoon frequency between Exeter and Exminster.

4 Exeter – Cranbrook – Honiton - Axminster
From 16 October there will be an extra early morning journey in connection with the opening of the Lidl distribution centre.

5 Exeter – Newton St Cyres – Crediton
All journeys on route 5 will be diverted to serve Cowley Bridge (Wrefords Lane / West Garth Road loop), replacing H. The 5A, 5B and 5C will continue unchanged. Additional 5 journeys will run at 1810 from Exeter and 1849 from Tuckers Close to reduce the current gap in the timetable. The 1815 5A and 1835 5B from Exeter will move 5 minutes to 1820 and 1840 respectively

Interesting. Wonder what else will change in addition to that? Nothing on the website as yet but presumably won't be long until we find out.

Stagecoach South West has announced that, from 3 September, there will be changes to its Plymouth city bus routes. It is the first significant revamp of the operator's services since it took over a number of routes from First Devon & Cornwall in September 2015.

The revised network of services will introduce a number of benefits for customers including higher frequencies across popular sections of routes, more connections to Derriford Hospital and a dedicated service between the city centre and Mount Batten.

Bob Dennison, Managing Director of Stagecoach South West, commented "These are the first major changes we have made since 2015 and, alongside our great value tickets, I hope they will give our customers even more reason to travel with Stagecoach South West."

Central to the changes is maximising the new bus priority infrastructure in and around Derriford Hospital which will allow Stagecoach to run all 1, 100 and 101 bus services via the Hospital. This will give a combined frequency between the Hospital and city centre of up to every 7-8 minutes and between the Hospital and The George and Milehouse Park & Ride sites of up to every 15 minutes. The new timetable will also create a direct all day service between Plymouth Station and Derriford Hospital - something that, until now, had been missing from the city's network.

Buses on the 1 service, operating between Tavistock and Plymouth city centre, will all run on a simple route through Marjon, Derriford Hospital and Mutley every 15 minutes. Customers travelling from Tavistock who wish to access Plymouth Railway Station will have two options: to either walk the short distance to/from Mayflower Street or change onto the 100/101 at Derriford Hospital. Here 1, 100 and 101 bus services will serve the same stop in each direction.

In Plymstock, an increased frequency will provide buses to the city centre up to every 5 minutes. Mount Batten will have a new service – the 2B – which will run up to every 20 minutes between Royal Parade and Mount Batten. Both the 2 and 2A will run to Elburton, doubling the frequency to this part of the City and helping to improve the reliability of this cross-City connection to Plymouth Station, St Budeaux and Saltash.

In partnership with City College Plymouth, Stagecoach is also taking over operation of route 36 between the College's Kings Road Campus and the City Centre. Open to the public, the timetable will include more journeys into the evening for students taking part in activities, study and training after the core teaching hours.

Fares on Stagecoach's Plymouth network remain great value. A Plymouth Dayrider costs just £3.60 and a 1 week Plymouth Megarider is only £13.

New timetables will be available to view at www.stagecoachbus.com and in print shortly. Customers can also download the free Stagecoach app - available in the App and Play stores - or use the website journey planner to plan their journeys. New timetable information will be available via the app or journey planner from mid-August.

I always found route H in Exeter to provide a very useful connection from the station to the university (and it was used by a number of students along the route). It's a shame that section has been withdrawn.

I have an idea that would solve that. A dedicated Airport service running from University to st David's, central station, city centre and Airport every hour or half hour. Would be much better than the 56 but could it work?

I read from a Facebook group this morning that Solos 47555-47558 have transferred from Cheltenham to the new depot in Bristol, presumably for the 622 (Chipping Sodbury - Cribbs Causeway) route which, along with the 77, will be added to the Stagecoach network in South Gloucestershire starting 3rd September.

Also, looking rather further ahead (I don't know when the route in question will next be up for tender) but I wonder if Stagecoach will try to add the 625 (Severn Beach - Cribbs Causeway - UWE Frenchay) route when it next gets put out to tender.

The 622 is only two vehicles so suspect the 84/86 are also involved.

The 625 was only awarded relatively recently after STL threw it in. What the length of the contract is, I don't know but Wessex will be keen to retain. Interestingly, Wessex did get the 10/11 tender so Stagecoach may not be the surprise package any more ;)

Possibly an initial allocation for staff familiarisation and training?

If the 622 requires two vehicles and with three being required for the 84/85/86 and another three(?) for the 77 then a few more vehicles must be on the way.

I'm not sure what's happening with the 60/62/620 though.

Was in Plymouth today (04th September) and noticed several 371xx Enviro200s running around with branding for Services 2 & 2A on them. Saw one of the 2B workings which was an Optare Solo.

From reports elsewhere, 19325 was the vehicle

That sounds about right, scuttlebut is that there was an engine component failure, conrod or such. All I can say is it's good it happened where it was, only a few mins away from the depo, if it was parked up then I imagine there may have been more losses and damage

Noticed some of the South Wales Scania E300s (28721-28741) have been de-branded from X3 and X4 vinyls. 28733-28735 are now in TrawsCymru livery. Is the X4 going to go Gold too? These tend to appear on the 26 more often than not now, despite having buses of its own (E200s 36401-36407).

The older examples (27688-27700), previously in use on the X24 before that went Gold, are now de-branded and tend to appear on the 26 too and the 122.

The X4 is not going Gold, at least not at the moment. Possibly because not all buses travel the entire route, Hereford-Cardiff. It may end up with its own livery.

The next one that seems to be planned to go Gold in south Wales seems to be the 120 Blaencwm-Caerphilly, and the 130 Blaenrhondda-Pontypridd. Not sure on the date, but I think it has been postponed for a short time.

There is gold liveried buses on the 122 Tonypandy-Cardiff. This route has not yet been put forward for Gold service, but there is talk about making it a fifteen minute service. This seems a bit daft, has some of these buses run less than half full.

I would not be surprised, over the next five years or so, that all of Stagecoach's south Wales trunk routes go gold.

Slight correction. The X3 and X4 were revised earlier this year. Situation now is:

- X3 Hereford - Abergavenny - Pontypool - Cwmbran - Cardiff
- X4 Abergavenny - Brynmawr - Ebbw Vale - Merthyr Tydfil - Pontypridd - Cardiff

Can't recall the exact date of revision but I think it was in July.

I noticed a enviro 200 on the Bristol 77 today which had Megabus advertising all over it. To me it seemed like it could easily be confused for a actual Megabus

Thought it might be of interest on this thread that today's Daily Telegraph contained an obituary to Harry Blundred who died 23rd August.
