Some notable observations this morning:-

Coach 20502 on the 1040 "39A" Camborne to Penzance.
Vario 56002 on the 0935 "47" Truro to Troon and 1130 "47" Troon to Truro.

The latter had a paper route number displayed in front windscreen.

A post on Facebook this morning stated that “47 service at 09.35 from Truro has been involved in a accident and is not running at this time”. Presumably 56002 took over?

Not sure, however 56002 arrived at Camborne from the Truro direction at around 1110 and then departed towards Troon. It displayed service 47 on a bit of paper.

There were two "blue" E400MMC's in Camborne depot yesterday.
Another Uni bus MMC I saw parked up at Penzance bus station at quarter to 2 and was still there at half 5 on Sunday, could of been on Helston-Penzance U4 services or on standby duties

Uni E400 MMC on service T1 earlier today.
I saw Uni MMC 33472 on the 09:27 T1 service from Penzance to Truro at Truro rail station, so probably was the same one, was is quite funny as there is a Tinner bus was on U1-U4 duties this week

That was the bus and working I saw!

Solo 53827 worked the 1305 "87" Truro to Newquay and 32048 the 1134 "27" Bodmin to Truro. It then went off empty to the depot.

Interesting movements on the U1 route this morning due to a broken down lorry near Treluswell roundabout, all Truro bound U1 services diverted via Perranwell. The first affected service was the 09:40 U1 service from Falmouth Moor to Truro worked by the usual blue MMC, which was transferred terminated at Playing Place and then worked the heavily delayed 10:35 U1 service from Truro to Falmouth which again started from Playing Place. All passengers transferred to Dennis Trident 33112 which worked empty from Truro depot and operated the Playing Place to Truro bus station Section of the U1 route and then worked the 11:05 U1 service from Truro bus station to Falmouth Moor

University E400MMC 33474 worked the 0735 "T1" Truro to Penzance and back as far as Camborne where it was taken off and replaced by Volvo B7TL 30872.
Dart 42874 was on the 0817 "T2" St Ives to Truro and 1020 "T2" Truro to St Ives.
32051 is broke at Camborne. It needed a bit of persuasion to be parked up!

Long term out of use Trident 32851 was removed from Camborne this afternoon, 32878 will probably follow soon. E400 MMC 33456 was taken off a Truro bound T2 service at Camborne and replaced by Volvo B7TL 30877.

Good to see those Penzance Darts still helping out on the Premiere routes! 42874 is certainly getting around this week as I saw it doing U4s between Penzance & Penryn Campus on Saturday, just goes to show how valuable the Dart is here in Cornwall!

Speaking of Darts, the GWR-liveried one was on the A17 this afternoon, the first time I've seen it in PZ for a while. Enough Tinners to see them working the 18C and 241.

First Kernow posted on Facebook and Twitter a couple of days ago that the parking / turning area at St Ives bus station is being refurbished over the winter. A temporary bus stop is provided nearby.

My questions are where is the bus stop and how are the buses turning around whilst the Malakoff is out of use?

I read (on Facebook) it’s a weight restriction as cornwall council are working underneath, so the buses can’t wait time in the station

From FK's Farcebook

St Ives Malakoff Bus Station

All routes into and out of St Ives are operating as normal, but are picking up and dropping off just above the Malakoff Bus Station at a temporary bus stop.

The Malakoff has closed for the winter while the freeholder undertakes replacement work to the concrete pad in the bus station area.

The site will remain closed through the winter for what is a specialist job expected to take about six months to complete.

Barring any delays the bus station will reopen in time for the main 2018 summer season, refurbished and ready for many more years as Britain's most stunning bus station!

TGW, I have seen that. What I was asking was where are the buses turning round if the Malakoff is "closed for the winter whilst the freeholder undertakes replacement work to the concrete pad...".
Is there room still available for the buses to turn whilst the work is going on or are other arrangements in place?

Can anyone confirm how many new E40D MMCs are still expected ?
Has the order just been reduced ?

On the Firstbus Enthusiasts Facebook group last week it was said 21 new green E400MMCs were coming in January and no one said otherwise there. If there was a change I would have thought someone would have said. It said 5 others (unspecified) were coming later, presumably single deckers.

I was answering the first of your questions "My questions are where is the bus stop and how are the buses turning around whilst the Malakoff is out of use?" :) As for turning.... run through town past the triangle (where the St Ives Bus Co congregate) and then turn round up there?

Retrobus on Flickr (who I think is an FK driver) said the new vehicles may not be arriving until Easter? Of the deckers, I think that 19 are expected to be green and 2 will be blue for the expanded Uni requirements (now that the U4 has been launched).

Thanks for that. There's been a suggestion that the order has been reduced to 10 - clearly an error.
