I thought 707 and 458 drivers don't sign the Shepperton route.
The PIS is simply defective. It kept alternating between the correct calling pattern and saying "this train is for London Waterloo only" (it wasn't) and also demonstrated the same effect as on the 700s with the two screens going out of sync.
I am baffled as to why Siemens thought it was a good idea to overcomplicate the design with two separate screens. They barely work. Compare with the 345/Aventra PIS which seems significantly more reliable and also appears to use much larger, clearer text.
Is there any where to find out what diagrams these 707s do TIA
Is there a delivery tonight?
Saw them together yesterday morning at Egham at about 11am, heading west. Don’t know the working, sorry.Any news if 015 & 016 has entered traffic yet?

Just had a look at Realtime, and it looks like it was 2S23, 0952 W’loo - Weybridge, running about 18 late.
I don't think that one has gone over to 707s yet, it will do once all units are in service.2O47 16:31 London Waterloo to London Waterloo was listed as a diagram for a Class 707, however on Thursday using this diagram I had two 455/8’s and today I had 456010 and two 455’s. Does anyone know if a Class 707 has run this diagram yet since the December timetable change? Would be nice to have one on a regular basis alongside the other 455/456’s

707015 is definitely in service, had it on the 1511 Ashford-Putney today, I've not seen 707016 though.
Saw a Yahoogroup posting saying there are two at Dollands Moor tonight; it appears it is 707 017 and 707 018 on the way.
Only 455+455+456 on the Windsor lines are the Kingston loop services which also serve the main suburban side. 455+455+456 cannot be used on other Windsor lines services as there are short platforms that need SDO. The lack of gangways on 456s is a further bar - 10-car trains on the Windsor/Reading/Hounslow loop services have to be 458 or 707 stock. That sounds right. SWR have made commitments to have all possible 10 car formations on the suburban main line by end of Feb. To do that they need to release a number of 455+455+456 diagrams from the Windsor lines and that requires the 707s.
The follow-up question is how do they resource the new timetable from December as they need extras sets, particularly when Waterloo-Windsor goes to 4tph, which will need 10 extra units. I know the 442s should come in, so does this indicate 450s being cascaded back to the Windsor lines again? And as such, all 10-car 455/456 formations are in use now. There are a few more 10-car diagrams still to come on the Main Suburban routes, this is in the form of two 10-car 707 diagrams which are currently being covered by 8-car 455s.

The splitting of the Waterloo-Weybridge services may free up a few sets too. I'd imagine the Virginia Water-Weybridge shuttle will be 450s. I don't see how the timetable will work without the use of more 450s on the Windsor Side though. They will be freed up by the 442s too, so it all makes sense. The follow-up question is how do they resource the new timetable from December as they need extras sets, particularly when Waterloo-Windsor goes to 4tph, which will need 10 extra units. My emphasises to highlight a slight contradiction there? As an aside, could a 456+455+455 train have the 456 unit split up, so it would be a half 456+455+455+half 456? (Although, yes, the doors at the end of the two half 456s are passenger doors not non-passenger gangway doors.)The lack of gangways on 456s is a further bar - 10-car trains on the Windsor/Reading/Hounslow loop services have to be 458 or 707 stock.
455+456+455 not permitted in passenger service on SWR. Can have 456+456, 456+456+456, 455+456, 455+456+456 or 455+455+456.(Also, has the formation ever been 455+456+455?)
