Can anyone shine any light on the discount you get for
A season ticket as I want to work out rough amount I will
Get stopped out of my wages as they offer a interest free loan for the rest

It's 75% off. If you go for the loan, they'll pay the full cost of the season ticket into your pay, you then go buy it and claim a refund of the 75% from TfL which they pay back over 10 months.

So every 4 weeks, they'll deduct the cost of the season ticket as well as refund 75% over the 10 months. Don't forget you'll be paying tax on that refund so it doesn't always work out to take the loan

Although worth mentioning if the season ticket is for GTR (trading as Southern, Thameslink, Gatwick Express and Great Northern) or East Coast, then you can get the full 75% discount, tax free.

You won't hear anything unless it's bad news....you call tho and they will tell u after 2 or 3 days but they won't call u to tell u..basically no news is good news....but call them for the news and then it's a case of waiting for training ...some people who have already been through the process have start dates in like feb etc
Have you done your contract signing yet??

Hey guys, just wondering if those who were offered the role around 4th of December 2017 had/booked their medical yet?
Not heard anything yet. I'm guessing due to the Christmas break we will hear back over the next couple of weeks. Keep us posted if you do receive anything

Yes, that's true! I forgot to mention that. It's only East Coast as far as Peterborough though isn't it?

Anywhere on the East Coast route. A forum member used to have one to Leeds.

Hello everyone, so I done my ac2 a week before Christmas, I think I was the last person to take it and got the email a week later to say I was unsuccessful. I thought it went well and as they can't give you more feedback due to the number of applications would it be worth ringing the number on the email for any queries to see if they could perhaps give me more details on where I went wrong? Also does anyone know if they'll be reopening for recruitment in 2018. Many thanks

You would also have to change at Shenfield onto TfL Rail/Crossrail as our staff passes aren't valid on Greater Anglia (except Liverpool Street - Stratford).

No harm in trying but they probably won't offer you anything in the way of feedback since if you get some then everyone will be asking. I'm hearing Jan/Feb from a number of T/ops but as always its just rumors, can't tell if that's accurate...

Hi, I do the same journey as you'll be doing and you'll get the 75% as mentioned but it is a taxable benefit which you'll pay at your marginal rate. I'm a full time T/op and my ticket works out at around 50 ish% off standard price (but I'm a higher rate tax payer:'()

You'll get the claim forms off your admin staff. One form to claim the loan, another to claim the discount. Usually sorted by your next payday.

Two ways of doing the journey,

1 - pay as far as Shenfield and change to TfL rail. (Takes a lot longer but saves you even more money)

2 - pay as far as Stratford (staff pass covers you from Stratford to Liverpool St on GA)

Dunno why that post made me join up. Been lurking for years. Still managed to screw up the quoting function. Anyway, hi!

You'll find there's a few of us who travel down from there ( and a few a lot further!!) so after a while you'll spot a few 'faces' on the 04.43. Although I prefer to travel a bit incognito as if there's a problem on the line, for some reason people think that you should be sorting it!

Pass to Stratford. Can't be doing changing trains, especially as it adds quite a bit of time to my commute. Time is more valuable to me than saving a few quid on fares.

Good luck by the way.

Why would it ..u should have finished your training by then ..so just speak to your manager and see if it falls on your holidays and if not see if you can swap with members in your depot
