Can you actually get this though?
No. you can't get it, unlike many of the others e.g. Hayle to Hale which are possible to purchase.

Green Road to Green Lane.
Alexandra Palace to Alexandra Parade (someone holding such a ticket was accused of holding a platform ticket at the infamous Euston human barrier around 2006ish)

Adlington (Lancs) to Adlington (Cheshire)
I remember at one stage there was a Northern service from Blackpool/Preston to Macclesfield that let you do this on the one train.

Meols to Meols Cop.
Both on Merseyside, but you need three trains and a ride under the River Mersey to do it.

Burnside to Burneside
Mill Hill to Mills Hill (or indeed Mill Hill Broadway)

One that I think would cause confusion is boarding a Shrewsbury bound train at Borth and asking for a ticket to Aber

Can you actually get this though? I believe it would either be London terminals or U1 to Liverpool stations.
Sadly not the ticket no, but some booking engines seem to give me an itinerary of Stratford -> Willesden Junction -> Watford Junction -> Milton Keynes Central -> Liverpool Lime Street.

I haven't tried it but would possibly London Liverpool Street > Norwich > Liverpool Lime Street be allowed?

My wife comes from Preston (Lancs). Her best friend from schooldays moved to Preston near Canterbury (Kent): she could not, of course, take a train to the latter, but it would have been nice!

But close enough to appear on the same road sign.

Going round towards Sandwich, you have the Ramsgate Sandwich Deal stations...
Yes that is very true. I live at one of them lol

Thinking about it, Ham could do with a station to connect local villages not that their buses services have almost disappeared, but that it another story.

I can't find any way of doing it on one ticket. Best I've gotten is Liverpool St>Norwich>Peterborough>York>Liverpool

Before 1970, what about St Ives (Cornwall) to St Ives (Cambridge)?

Bradford to Bingley was always a fun little one when the building society was a bit more mainstream!

You could still get Charing Cross to Charing via London Charing Cross! Not as good as your original idea, though.

I wonder if Charing has had a direct service to Charing Cross before - I think all trains go to Victoria now, but not sure if that was always the case.
