Had the pleasure of a 53 reg B7 on the 39 this evening. No heating upstairs. Engine fan constantly roaring. Destination displays showing "Temple Meads 39". It didn't terminate at Temple Meads and continued towards central Bristol.

In more positive news I discovered that one can get all the way to Bath (or Bristol) using a £2.70 single mTicket. This compares to £5 single on the bus! Is this the biggest gap, proportionally, between on bus and mTicket in the area?

I also enjoyed one of the B7TLs (32351) yesterday on the X39 and it was quite noisy. Mind you, 32352 was also working the route. See that Steve has confirmed some of the movements, including two of the ex Glasgow B7TLs heading to HE from WM, others making the opposite journey, so making more sense of the numbers involved.

The final B7L 66355 has headed to York. The B7Ls have been one of those quirky designs that we’ve enjoyed down here so sort of sad to see them go though won’t miss their comfort!

No ex WM Streetlites in Bath today. Nine BH Darts seen out and about today so that hasn't changed (yet). There was a Dart on the 179 and TGW had 44521 on the 171. Got that the wrong way around then!
Still no ex WM Streetlites in Bath but 47448 (ex Hengrove?) was on a 271 in Bath this evening.

A RUMOUR I heard today is that Marlborough Street will be receiving E200s to replace the Darts on the 5s.

Really? They struggled in the city before so would be surprised.

That said, does anyone know the loadings on the 5?
They were used previously by Hengrove on the 24s mainly, which now struggle at times with Streetlites.

The source that I heard this from says that the Darts cope fine with the 5s with very few trips where they run near full seated capacity. They reckon short E200s will be about the right size for them.

If this is the case with those Darts going, the number of Darts left at First WoE is diminishing with just those left in Bath and Weston.

If that proves to be correct then my sympathies will be with the passengers: IMO those short-length Enviro200s are a poor ride and rather uncomfortable. Oh well at least I don't live on that route. Why can't First Bristol just keep the Pointer Darts?

I think they are trying to phase out wherever possible the older singles where ever possible. The Darts are getting long in the tooth and increasingly problematic.

If the E200s come from Weston they are in for a better ride than anything from Bath as they are better looked after.

The ride quality is a reflection of the short wheelbase rather than the quality of the maintenance. Would be better if they went to Bath to replace some of the Solos IMHO.

You're right, that's out working the 272 now. Hadn't expected these to transfer, but yes former Hengrove, typically worked 8, 9 & 24. I think we can probably expect more to move.

Wonder if the plan is to have the Microhybrid ones in Hengrove?Remember that 47544 moved there from Bath along with another (47554?)
That's what I think they're doing as well. Hengrove seem to be losing some of the slighly older ones in favour of the 64 reg ones from WM (which all originated at HE). I think 47554 is a pink one that came from WM, whilst 47554 might well have done a stink at HE but I think is back at BH now.

Both 47544 and 47554 went BH to HE in November

And 36819 is on the 2; 14:50 from Cribbs Causeway.

36818 was out on the 2 the other day.

Seems like the LH Scanias are based on UWE Express (pvr 6 or 7) so there’s a spare one at least M-F. Of course, Saturday is much lower with just 2 of the 8 needed.

The lack of any branding on them is really noticeable. Assume that Metrobus is the reason behind this.

And 36823 has just turned up at the Centre on the 45.

The older 14 plate Streetlites, 47551 to 47558 were originally new to Marlborough Street and worked the old X2/X3 to Portishead. They transferred to Weston with the route, then went on to the 7s when the X2/X3 became the X3/X4 and E400d. All 3 pink Mticket Streetlites were from this batch and painted out of Express Yourself, along with the 3 Excel Streetlites and 2 Bristol Airport liveried Streetlites.
