Hi there

Over the last few weeks I have managed to take some shots of steam which I feel might be worth sending to Steam magazine (the major steam magazine) if I have the name right and well was just wondering if anyone has the email details or address of the person I am supposed to send my images to?

Cheers Scott - glad you like my shots! I've only started submitting them to mags early this year but I have had a handful published in recent months. Got nothing pending at the moment, rest days and sunshine haven't combined well enough recently!!!

Anyway, you quite often take some publishable shots of your own and I'm sure that if you persevere with it then you'll get some shots in from time to time.

No worries ferret I know good shots when I see them with yours I never fail to see as shot in the best possible sunlight and with the positioning down to a MM I was taken back from the Hydrualic shot at the WSR.
But yeah there are times when I feel it might be worth trying Ive been at this since November 07 so it has been enough time.

It's worth a go Scott - just one bit of advice though - don't get downhearted if you don't get success straight away. You can submit perfectly publishable shots but not get them in, not because the shot isn't good enough but because the editors have already filled their quota. The shot of mine you refer to was submitted to a magazine but not used - c'est la vie!

As a basic rule, if you've got something you think is decent, check the email address and drop em a low res (1024 in size) and give a caption.
If it's good enough you may get it retained (bear in mind other people may also have taken that particular working etc) - and send em the hi-res. I do mine to 26cm and 300dpi.
Admittedly, the more you send in, the more your name is used - follow what Ferret has said mind as he's started off this year and the lucky bugger has got a cover out of it [before me...] - I've been doing shots since 2005 and yes, I do get pics in a bit easier and had a lot more in mags than others because of that but, again, don't be downhearted, give it a go!!:D
