Bury 2-2 Oldham

Local derby match at Gigg lane today where Oldham nicked point from Bury. I thought Oldham were very poor in first half and never got going which Bury took advantage of that and scored two goals in first half hour, we somehow scored just before half time which spark minor comeback in second half for Latics and 10 mins remaining we scored equaliser goal. This result leave Oldham in 19th places and two point clear of drop zone.

Three points against Wolves opens the top of championship up further. We got lucky with some penalty decisions not given but overall we outplayed them

Us and Cardiff to go up and Wolves to face West Brom next season

Big result, i shall enjoy saying hello to my Wolves supporting boss on Monday :)

Darlington 1 v Curzon Ashton 0

Another win for Darlo ( now 5 in 6 ) and up to 13th. A poor performance but a late winner form Dave Syers secured the points. only 6 points of the play offs now. ( they will be out of reach but shows the turn around since the end of January)

Jamie Carragher filmed spitting at a Manchester United fan after being goaded on the motorway.

The Manc is a waste of space for goading Carragher and even worse for filming while driving on the motorway.

I’m a big fan of Carra but he’s going to (rightly) lose his lucrative Sky job over this. It’s sad. He’s a nice bloke. What a complete melt he is though to have spat at someone. Unbelievable. No defence.

Couldn’t agree more.
He said something along the lines of being sorry for the distress he’d caused the family - Meaning the family that were filming him and couldn’t wait to post the footage online that is...
Ah well Carra. That’s the end of the TV career for now no matter how good the apology. Live and learn hopefully and at least you’ve got a few bob in the bank as a safety net.

To my mind, you can't be both a "nice bloke" and spit at anyone. It's simply disgusting.

What I mean is, I think you have to look at the incident in the context of a long career in the public eye where he rarely put a foot wrong.

Obviously spitting is disgusting in all circumstances and I’d fire him if I was his boss at Sky.

I agree with this entirely.

I'm very surprised they didn't sack him already, bound to happen though. Things will then be left to die down for 6-8 weeks and he'll get an equally cushy and lucrative slot on beIN sports.

Do you think someone should loose their job forever for spitting? Not defending him at all by the way as it was a horrible thing to do. At the end of the day he was good at his job, he made a massive mistake and he will pay for it.

If I spat at someone whilst at or travelling to / from my job then I probably would expect to lose it, yes, and can't really see how I could have been hard done by. No matter how far you were pushed, who spits at a teenager and some random bloke, especially when you have such a distinguished and privilidged position? What a pillock.

Sorry mate, not sure if you were replying to my comment or not. The issue is these people are constantly on duty so they should know better. I sincerely doubt I would get sacked for spitting at someone on the way home from work unless I shouted at them who I worked for, was draped in company logos or got nicked for it which is unlikely. You are right, he is a pillock though. I feel really let down. Why should I though, he is just a bloke. People do stupid things.

I will be interested to hear how the motorist managed to record the film while driving. Helmet cam perhaps? That isn't to excuse Carragher who will possibly rightly loose his job.

I think all Liverpool fans are properly let down by what Carra did. As I’ve mentioned earlier, he had a career where his conduct was excellent, never in trouble off the pitch, a fully signed-up member of the human race, and the sort of guy you’d want as the face of the club.

When I saw on twitter he’d “spat at someone” I didn’t believe it until I saw the video. It’s disgusting and it was particularly shocking to see Carragher of all people do it. If John Terry had done it then I’d have barely batted an eyelid. (Well I’d have posted about it on here to wind up Terry fans but it wouldn’t have surprised me!)

I find it quite hard to get my head around that he actually did that. I think he knows what’s going to happen, and he’ll probably just take it on the chin (a bit like the girl in the car did ) and move on.
It’ll pretty much be forgotten about in a couple of years and he’ll be able to do something else football related for a while instead as he’s pretty well regarded in the game.

I'm generally not a fan of anyone connected with that club but Carragher is the exception, always comes across as a top bloke. Shocked he did what he did but he should lose his job for it; it's not like he won't get another job in football soon anyway.

So with Mauricio Pellegrino sacked as Southampton Manger which failed premier league manager will take over? Another total failure will be given another chance to fail totally!

I just hope there's no "bounce" once the new boss is in place!

Our failure to break down a stern Swansea defence on Saturday has made the upcoming game at home to Crystal Palace a classic "six-pointer" and both sides could do with Saints continuing to self-destruct!

I couldn’t help commenting on his Mother’s Day Instagram post  Asked him if he spat on her too

Whoops

But c’mon, pretty rancid to spit at a teenage girl eh?

Pretty much guaranteed, heavily odds-on now and some have suspended betting.

have they? I don't really follow premier league football so I had no idea he had been sacked until lunchtime today. However, that has moved quickly.Good to see my media contact didn't get it wrong then. I don't bet so it was more for interest.

Yeah, saw as high as 11/8 late this morning and the same places that are still offering are now around 2/7. Has moved really quick and I believe the Saints board also ruled out Silva pretty early on as well, normally suggests they have already got someone lined up.

Rarely put a foot wrong? He threw a coin into the crowd at Arsenal years ago in a fit of rage and was involved in a confrontation with fans after an FA Cup tie at Luton and this latest act of stupidity beggars belief. Whatever the other party did surely Carragher should have had the sense to ignore it?

What Carragher did was horrible, however, I have heard people saying it is the vilest thing you can do, some saying they would rather be punched (Not on here). I was mugged in Aigburth years ago and ended up knocked out by an unfound weapon. I woke up in Casualty with 21 stitches in my head. I would rather have been spat at. There have even been violent idiots like Vinnie Jones and Joey Barton sticking their oar in to stir it up. As for the motorist who was driving his car whilst goading Carragher and filming him when he was driving his daughter along a busy road. I mean that is six points and a £200 fine isn't it. Back to Carragher, if he looses his job so be it. Stupid and unpleasant thing to do.

A 0-0 draw for darlo v tamworth tonight. My first mid week away game for years. Typical mid table clash offering the right result even if darlo missed two sitters.

Ossett Albion 2...Hyde United 0

Hyde were a mere shadow tonight of the side that are top of the league and worse still, they suffered only their third league defeat of the season to a side next to the bottom of the league. Ossett Albion seemed to find the three points for the win in their current predicament far more worth fighting for than Hyde did.

I wonder if the team selection with the quality of players available of Manchester United last night in the Champions League home tie against Sevilla was something that will highlight a number of current problems at that club, ownership-wise, managerial, coaching staff and playing staff.

Sevilla's second goal last night was pure comedy.

Didn't see the whole game, saw the goals only, but the goals United conceded were surprising. I saw the post-match reaction online and was astonished to find Mourinho had set the team out so negatively. Sevilla are not a good team and should not be scoring twice at Old Trafford.
