How odd.

Why the NBL Warship, but not the Swindon built ones?
Why the 700 and not the 707?
Why the 156 and not the other gangwayed Sprinters.

Its the sliding leaf doors that put me off. I like plug leaf doors or sliding double doors. The 700 is practically the same as a 707 so you could say the 700 as they have the same bodyshell

The front of the new Sheffield tram-trains looks a bit strange. Looks like Plug out of the ‘Bash St Kids’.

Surprised no-one has mentioned the class 70 yet - I believe they were nicknamed "Ugly Bettys" when they first came out. :D

as there are no 43 Warships left, then I guess any old diesel is up for grabs. So I'm certain the Fell loco/10100 would win, or maybe 10800/Hawk.
Though some of the early shunters, especially those from NBL/Hunslet/Yorkshire were pretty grim to look at

The Fell was truly, truly awful!

Class 70, no contest. It's up there with the Ssangyong Rodius and the Cumbernauld Shopping Centre as one of the ugliest things ever created by humanity.

According to Wikipedia 'the distinctive front end is due to crashworthiness standards'. That cab had better be very, very safe in a collision to justify looking like that.

The 313-315 and 507-508 units still look modern to me (when in decent condition). The early 317s and 455s produced next were a bit of a shock, just looked like all the necessary parts were bolted together rather than actually being designed. Later units based on the same bodyshell tidied things up a bit.

class 319
class 321/322/323
class 455/456
class 442
class 345

Probably the 321-323 are the worst, but the rest are pretty bad

I'm with you on this one, the 700 and 707 look exactly the same.

But, in answer to the OP, I'm not really a fan of the Class 150/2 or 385.

458 pre-conversion. Nobody realised they could use 3 dimensions once they got the front off the drawing board...
