Can I nominate the Leighton Buzzard Railway's extension to Double Arches? See:
http://www.buzzrail.co.uk/static/doublearches.html
What do we want to do?
In this 50th anniversary year of our society we are taking the first step to extend our railway back towards the end of the main line at Double Arches.

Like many narrow gauge railways, the Leighton Buzzard Railway served a number of quarries along its route. While as an industrial line there was never a station to define the terminus, the end of the main running line has nevertheless always been recognized as being at the point where the line crossed Eastern Way and entered the main quarry itself at a location known locally as Double Arches. Continuing sand extraction at the quarries there means that Double Arches is not yet accessible, but the opportunity now exists to extend the line beyond Stonehenge by nearly three-quarters of a mile, past Mundays Hill, within striking distance of that eventual goal.

I'd like to nominate the Corris Railway's Falcon Locomotive project.

https://www.corris.co.uk/the-future/falcon-locomotive/

The Falcon Locomotive
Reasons for having a second locomotive
Back in 2006 discussion centred around the idea of having another locomotive on the Corris Railway. A second locomotive would take pressure off the `Tattoo’ when maintenance and repair work became necessary, especially important when it came to the 10 year overhaul of the Tattoo. This might happen as soon as 2015. The boiler would be out for several months while the tubes were removed. Additionally, by having a second locomotive, the work involved in operating the railway could be shared.

What sort of locomotive would we have?
To build another Tattoo might be considered sensible because the design had been accepted by HMRI, but the opportunity to build a locomotive which would closely resemble the original Corris No.3, a Falcon, although fraught with difficulties, was an opportunity not to be missed. To have an appropriately modernised replica of a Falcon would be an advantage to give the railway variety in motive power. Our photo charter friends would love it, the visual display would be more satisfying than two identical twins and it would improve the profile of the railway as a national tourist attraction.
After a poll of the CRS members the decision was taken in the spring of 2007 to build a replica of No 3.

Voting seems a bit sparse this year, there's some very worthwhile projects and it would seam underwhelming if the winner won on a handful of votes.

From memory, the forum staff put an announcement out about the nominations, but haven't put one out about the voting - it just kinda reappeared with a poll.

I saw that the vote had been initialised only because I had "watched" the thread.

Hopefully, quite a few more people will vote over the weekend.

Post 43 was from the forum staff, however when it first appeared the poll didn't appear to be active, which then became active a bit later.

Yeup, I missed it this time round. :/

In years past, the voting took place on a separate thread, so I was waiting to see a second thread pop up.
