In case it's of interest to anyone considering converting Nectar to (now) LNER e-vouchers, the Nectar website continues to refer to Virgin Trains East Coast as of today.

The e-voucher codes do work on the (now) LNER website, as they should, and the confirmation email from Nectar has been updated to reflect the branding changes:

Thanks for checking this. I was confident this would still work. Are you able to check to see if the use of the vouchers is disabled if you try and make a non-LNER booking.

It is indeed still disabled for anything other than LNER Advances - including even Super Off Peak Singles (ie LNER-only).

The maddening 'ooh.....awkward' fraud alert message is still there when you have the temerity to try and make more than one booking per 24 hours, as well.

What I find annoying is even sale fares (usually type VTEC Flatfare) are not redeemable for Nectar as they're not 'Advance' tickets. It makes sense to me that they should include sales in Nectar redemptions as that's the closest most Nectar collectors will get to be able to redeem points for a free ticket. e.g. a £5 sale fare to York would be 1000 Nectar points.

I have never had problems with multiple transactions on the same day with the same credit card on the VTEC site: I therefore wonder whether this is something imposed by your card issuer rather than by VTEC/LNER.

While I understand the annoyance of Nectar vouchers only being usable on advances, one thing I am happy about is that they now allow the vouchers to be used on advances including connecting travel. I remember when Nectar was first brought in that vouchers could only be used on journeys wholly on VTEC services. This was very frustrating, as it meant having to split tickets to use the vouchers when connecting travel was involved. However, a few months ago, I successfully used some vouchers on advances from Arlesey to Cleethorpes (using VTEC between Peterborough and Doncaster). Not sure when that change came in, but I'm grateful nonetheless. Hopefully this remains to be the case with LNER.

Just a heads-up that Nectar is offering 'half points back' on LNER redemptions until 19 December. I think this is a targeted offer, so check your account.

If you have it, it's a rare opportunity to get 1p value from a Nectar point, as opposed to 0.5p.

Isn't it currently an awsome 1p per £1 spent?

A similar, better*, offer has just popped up on my Nectar app, so it's worth checking your account to see if you have the same offer.

Redeem for LNER travel vouchers before 14/8/19 for double value - ie £5 voucher costs 500 points. Again vouchers are only valid on LNER Advance tickets. Terms say they're valid for 12 months although mine have an expiry of 31/12/20.

*Better because this allows you to get double value for your full Nectar balance, whereas the last offer effectively gave you double value on half your balance.
