Does anyone have the workings for these at all, I'm especially interested in the Birmingham to Peterborough via Leicester workings more so to know what they're diagrammed to be ie 2 car, 3 car, 5 car etc...

Not too sure about the Saturdays and Sundays though except that the Sunday's 0952 Birmingham /1118 Leicester are 2+2...

Are they that rigid?

From catching the same weekday train from Ely to Stansted multiple occasions it's generally a 50/50 if you get a 2 or 3 car (or any train at all some days....)

That's what's booked... Often changes when there's disruption or engineering work...

From general observation the 0622 off Birmingham and associated diagram is shortformed quite often but the others seem to be pretty reliable...

Indeed a few months ago when they were turning back the XC's at Peterborough and bussing them to Ely/Cambridge, it was so nice to actually be able to board at Peterborough AND get a seat so I'm grateful that whatever the engineering works was, it meant the train back wasn't as busy as it would have been!

As to the first three off Birmingham in the Peterborough direction and the last three off Peterborough in the Birmingham direction how busy can they be?

0519 ex Birmingham is pretty empty until Stamford/Peterborough...
0622 ex Birmingham is similar...
0722 ex Birmingham fills up between Nuneaton and Leicester but quiet afterwards..

1952 ex Peterborough has plenty of room...
2052 ex Peterborough is similar...
2152 ex Peterborough is empty....Single figures some evenings...

That's very helpful, should mean that I don't need to book a seat - usually when I use XC it means having to book the priority seats just for the legroom as the airline seats are awful and cramp!
