It kind of takes how long it takes, its not timed as such, but the test takes a certain amount of time which you have no influence over. Definitely agree with the above advice, make sure you have no distractions around you whatsoever, and in part 3, try not to lose focus if you make a mistake, part 3 is tricky, and a handful (unknown amount) of mistakes are allowed so don't panic
Thanks.... Still cant get the hang of stage 3. Stage 1 and 2 im doin pretty well but when it comes to stage 3, doin both left an right together
needs a bit of gettin use to.
Any tips from people on the method they are using. thanks

I think playing a lot of first person shooter video games on PlayStation/Xbox helped me. Being used to moving the body with one joystick and the head with the other seems like the only similar activity to me.

MMI is completely competency based about 6 situations/questions. Nothing about the TOC.

Same here. Completed now just waiting, said up to 4 weeks.

I think you mean the MMI here.

I would also like some insight to the MTR DMI.

Thanks for your feedback, it’s all really helpful.

Hi all,

I have applied for the Maidenhead depot and have my first assessment day near the end of September. Thinking ahead, I'm a bit worried about the medical test though. Do they measure things like BMI and can they refuse your application if its too high?

Has anyone passed Stage one assessment centre but currently on hold awaiting Stage 2?

And has anyone done stage 2 assessment centre that can give me any tips regarding the computer tests and MMI?

Thank you.

Great stuff mate, i have my stage 2 friday, any tips?

Thanks in advance

Difficult to give any tips as you can't really practice any of it, the tests I found weren't too difficult, make sure you fully concentrate and stay focussed throughout, specially with the grey box test. The test with the two joy sticks is a bit tricky mainly due to the fact they are very sensitive. You get to practice everything first anyway.

For the interview just make sure you use real examples as you will be asked to elaborate on them, take your time to think of the answers when you get given the questions at the start of the day. It is a structured interview so you need to bear in mind that you need to meet the criteria (use your buzz words).

Good luck

Thanks mate,

Sorry, what do you mean by buzzwords? Have you got an example of this?

I’ve been practising some MMI questions and answers, but want to see if I have used buzzwords in my answers.

Thanks

I was one of the unsuccessful candidates from todays group, I passed all 3 assessments that i sat from the first half of the day, 2 i managed to pass at Crossrail's enhanced level, but unfortunately i passed the Group Bourdon at national level only and therefore was sent packing.

Two things to take away from today for anyone with an upcoming assessment date, dont be LATE, go in at half past, they have a lovely seating area with help yourself coffee and tea, relax and talk to people dont stress out as you will sit group bourdon first and you want to be relaxed and focused.

I can not stress enough for group bourdon to ensure accuracy just as much as speed, as its the only assessment of the day in which you are marked DOWN for not only incorrect dots identified but also for missing dots, my mistake was i missed afew in one row, so even if you dont make any mistakes the difference between national pass level and cross rails level could be missing one set of dots.

good luck to everyone with upcoming assessments for me its back to the Picadilly Line
Thanks so much for sharing....
Do U remember the passage memory test I mean 5 minutes to read n answer questions , are u able to guide what was paragraph or questions? Pls ?

Yes, they do measure BMI. But I have no idea what is "too high"

Hey, I've been having a look for things on the medical as I have a health condition I think may be a problem for me (wish they did some kind of medical at the beginning so we didn't have to go through all this). I've been advised to give them a call, but in the meantime I've found this, in regards to BMI it says no higher than 33.... Here's the link, www.traindriver.org/medical-standards--age-limits.html I did find an official document too, but that doesn't mention anything about the BMI, however I do know they do check it in the medical. Give them a call if anything.

the second video is made by the company that actually produces the test so what you're seeing in that video is exactly what you see in the ATAVT test on the day.
