Location
What's it called? It's called Cumbernauld
Joint Line??

I believe this thread refers to the Great Northern and Great Eastern Joint Railway between Peterborough and Doncaster via Spalding, Lincoln Central, and Finningley (vicinity of Doncaster Airport/Robin Hood/whatever name it is today).

I have had a quick look on Real Time Trains, and by inputting "Spalding", I have found the London Kings Cross - Leeds/Newcastle/Edinburgh Waverley Intercity trains are diverted along this route.

The Peterborough-Spalding-Doncaster route is called the joint line, and is used by LNER when the Peterborough-Newark-Doncaster main line is blocked or booked diversions, most of the diverted trains are HST as is a non electrified, some drags happen if booked to be used as a diversionary route.

It is called the joint line in context, ie a context of talking about Peterboro - Doncaster. There are/were dozens of joint lines. I too had to assume from the OP what he/she was talking about, so it is/was perfectly reasonable to pose a question on the thread title.
